I really don't think so much focus should be put on the strikers for our stinker of a run. The whole team lacked urgency. We didn't create proper chances. We kept playing useless floaty crosses into the box. There's a reason we gave the genuinely good teams a game but not the poor ones. At least the strikers were consistently shit.

This is something i commented on time and again in the match day chatroom. The players just didn't seem to comprehend the gravity of the situation. Yes, it may be Wolves or whoever, but the result has much bigger implications for our future CL hopes. The effort didn't seem to reflect this. It's times like those i'd expect one of the so called best man-managers to make a difference.

Hey guys.

Let's calm the fuck down. It's the Daily Mail. Just because it has some supposed quotes - doesn't mean jack shit.

And as someone said earlier, it's only football - it's not like there upping the retirement age or anything. Oh wait.

Whilst the anti-Harry vitriol was rather excessive at times, the simple fact is the team were coming out game after game as if everything was going smoothly, when in actuality we were dropping many easy points. It didn't seem as if a much needed kick up the arse was being provided.

I'm pretty sure these quotes are the real deal. They've been picked up by various other sources now.

I'm not being defeatist and I will be as upset as the next man if he leaves, but hey, this is what being a spurs fan is all about. As much as we like to dream, we are what we are, a wannabe team that is unlikely to ever be as big as we all would like.

Sorry, but it is the way it is. Modric is one of the top players in his position in Europe and we have had him for 3 years. He is entitled to want to make the most of his career.

Could have been different though, if our team had the right attitude going in to some of those games in the second half of last season...perhaps Suarez might have been a good buy after all? Who knows?

Are we reall calling Modric "rat boy" now just because he wants to earn £130k a week and try and win some medals? Jeez...

If he leaves I hope we don't boo him.

He's a good player, and person, and he's done well for this club. I'll be sickened to see him booed for following his ambitions.

Agreed with the comment on players taking some responsibility for not getting CL. Modric last season only managed 3 goals and 3 assists in the league.

If Luka goes, and it's looking increasingly likely that he will sadly get this move it will sicken me and the blame lies and one persons door, Harry.

I know posters like az have mentioned how he feels some are going over the top about this but seriously Luka is our heartbeat, our best player since huddle in my eyes (including gazza) and the whole idea of making a statement with some signings that we may be ready to challenge is bollocks if he leaves.

What sort of statement is that? This should have been done last window, who genuinely belived crouch and keane are good enough? The strikers made the difference last year and Harry dithered, and dithered, then twitched, dithered some more and finally scouted players we all know about (aguero, forlan, Rossi) and then decided Charlie Adam was the answer, only to fuck that up too.

I am disappointed with Luka but I can see the reasoning, we all claim about out project and 'in a couple of years we can win the league' but he like many others have seen we fucked it up and are way way behind now. Anyone who claims about spending doesn't get the point, we had it and pissed it away last season, city wernt beter than us and neither were Chelsea. We have only ourselves and Harry especially to blame if this leads to the exedous it may well end up as.

Just so the usual reply of 'Harry bashing'. I am not usually but this is beyond a joke, he doesn't give a fuck and will leave next year.
It's not Harry's fault, take your Modric couloured specs off,
no one player is our heartbeat! the cockrel on the shirt, the club, the team is!
the club is bigger than one player! look back to when Berbatov left, the uproar was as loud then as it is now and we only have a few quotes from the player if true,
The Adam transfer broke down as they(blackpool) could not get in touch with two people who had to sign at the last minute, harry fault i guess.

yeah i'm pissed we didn't get a striker in when we had the chance to but at the time we were in the top four and was in the CL,
things happen people come and people go,
city and chelsea were better than us thats why they finished in the top four, no point arguing that, we played crap for over half of the season,
how do you know he doesn't give a fuck? has he said that? does he come to work and say that before taking the players out on the pitch? no he doesn't.
as for leaving he may well be linked with the England job but at the moment he's our manager so try and get behind the team.
a year is a long time in football.

jesus christ people get a fucking grip, if and when he goes we'll all still be here supporting the side and who knows the person we get in might just be able to score and set up goals too(yeah cheap dig i know)I'm not saying that i won't miss watching him play our way either but life goes on...

What a fucking stupid thread.

Be ashamed of yourself you mug

This is all I ever see from you in any thread even remotely having a go at Harry, something I have noticed and finally will not keep it in

Yes you love Harry a lot, enough to personally attack other SC members in his defence all time, we get it, but at least argue back with facts and stuff to defend Harry, not constantly play the man.

Now I don't want Harry out, never said it, or hardly ever complain, even when I don't agree with him ( like our best ever season rubbish, the main goal had to be CL qualification again ), so I am far from a Harry basher, but people are allowed to have a view and an opinion without the likes of you having a crack at them all the time.

Is Harry fully at fault, no, but as the manager he certainly takes a fair share of it, be it a failure to bring in a class forward, in multiple windows, the failure to get our players up and in the right mind frame for every game, no matter the team, as the manager that is partly his responsability, as well as the players themselves.

I just hope this is all rubbish from the daily fail again, but if it isn't, we certalinly can't let Modric dictate to us the team he wants, in fact we should say non EPL only, but I would rather we stay firm and say you ain't leaving this window.

I called him rodent/ray boy because he looks like, well, a rodent!

Still, your condescension is interesting when you are ciitcising me for "rat boy" and pretending I am being dramatic, when in fact all along I've been saying lets not overreact as he's only one player, while you, on the other hand, have been overly dramatic in the Luka Modric thread, declaring him "worse than Berbatov".

I think you should look at your own over the top nonsense before having a go at others.

If we had qualified for the CL, maybe Modrics statement would contain fewer references to this competition and more about the potential to win things within the time frame of his career. CL football would have helped but it was no grantee he'd stay. Even if we'd got in again, Chelsea still look a much better prospect in terms of trophies and can also offer significantly more money than we can.

This is down to Modric and what he wants for his career.

He is by far our best player, I hate no be a total pessamist before a ball is even kicked, but the probability of us breaking that top 4 with out him are slim to none IMO.

If he does go, then we need to invest every penny into the playing squad and increasing the wage cap. What kind of message does selling out best player send to VdV and Bale? Its always the same with us in recent history. 2 steps forward 3 steps back. It drives me bonkers. Levy isn't to blame, nor is Harry, If Modric leaves then its his decision.

I remember countless posts along these lines when Berbatov left.

Why is it that fans can't see beyond the supposedly impending judgement day when the club sinks to the pits of hell whenever we have a bit of news like this?

Simple Mordern day football = Manager loses 4,5 6 games in a month they are probably out.
Players get offered better money and more chance of success = they fuck off

why are we suprised? it has happened to us before and will happen again.
Man u couldn't hold on to Ronaldo, Liverpool Torres, the scum Henry and soon Cesc boy, there is always someone bigger than you to take away your best players, if we had won the CL Barca and Real would start looking at our players!

Unless we build a 80,000 stadium or sell up to mad Billionaire we will lose players to clubs who can offer more....Players sticking around like Mabbutt etc don't exist anymore...football has changed.
