Yet, Berbatov could go on to break his leg and Dempsey could score 11 in the last 11 games, then does it still look like such a great deal?

The best signings of a season don't have to be the most talented players, they just have to be the most effective.

Then have most definitely signed the worse deal of the season so far...

Then again, it could all click and everything works.

Hmm I don't no, 17 goals and 11 assists from Adebayor isn't to shabby.

and we dont play with 2 strikers so not sure if we missed out. Midfield is our problem right now

I was always against resigning him, using the declining & never go back phrases

After watching him game after game it brings back memories, nonchalance and class. At 5m I would have had him back in a heartbeat.

I've always rated Bryan Ruiz too, Infact, he always reminded me of berbatov. Now they are playing together its great to watch. I'd like to see jol do very well there. I think he can get fulham to seventh position

I think you have to look at it from a team perspective too. He pissed an awful lot of people off when he forced his move to United and and I'm sure a lot of the players wouldn't have been too chuffed to see him back. Personally, as good as he is I wouldn't want him back at all after he shit on us from a great height...

I'm not gonna lie, I was one of those that didn't want him back.

But, if only........

I was the exact opposite. He was too good for us when he left but could have and would have been a excellant addition to our first eleven this season.....

He didn't act very intelligent when he decided to go to Man U when all we needed for the last couple of season in order to challenge for the title was a striker of his quality. He could have been a hero and all time legend here instead he is going to be remembered as the highly skilled benchwarmer that Fergie didn't like playing that much.

That bit in bold was amazing.

I still love Berba and would have him back in a heart beat.

One story from his time at Tottenham sums up the ability and the attitude. Jamie O'Hara, who is now at Wolves, remembers Berbatov being in possession, with his back to him, about 40 yards away. "I was yelling for the ball," O'Hara said. "Berba dropped his shoulder and, without looking, he played a pinpoint pass right to my feet. After training, he said to me: 'I know where you are. You don't have to shout.'"

yep, Spurs missed out here...

Should have signed him. Possibly my favourite Spurs ever.

Strikers aren't really such a big issue atm though. Yes we have Clint Dempsey at the club which is a massive embarrassment for everyone involved but midfield is where we're really lacking, especially with Dembele out injured.

If Dempsey scores 11 in the last 11 games I'll eat my own cock. Fuck, if Dempsey even plays in the last 11 games I might eat my own cock.

I'm glad we never got Berbatov anyway I personally think a fit Adebayor is a better player if not equal plus gives more to the team.

I think we should also lay of Dempsey thinking about it, when he gets back into form will be a goal threat, but at this moment he should be dropped. Hopefully when we get all our players fit we have a very strong squad, the proof is already here to see as were still in touching distance to 4th spot.

Adebayor is as good as Berba imo, but it would have been awesome for them to play together.

Still I'm certain that when we finally can get our best team out there we will be very good. We still haven't seen Dembele and Adebayor play together have we?

Berbatov is still one of my favourite players of all time. They way he plays football is magical, watching him at Spurs was a delight and I hope we get to see him on the PL for many a year to come. One of the most gifted players ever to play at WHL.

Makes me wonder where we'd be now if Jol had been here the whole time up to now.

He's only happy and playing well there because he's top dog. He's a stroppy git and can bring a team's morale down by his perpetual sulking.

He's a lot like Ade in the way he turns it on and off when the mood takes him - awesome when up for it but a real fucking drag when the dummy's spat out.
