We are tied points with Arsenal and only 2 points off 4th. COYS!

Time to keep the faith. Sorry if this seems like spam, but I just think it's not as bad as people think.

If we played as well as newcastle have since they beat us we would be around 3rd

It is that bad, the only reason we're within touching distance of 4th is because everyone else has been almost as bad, if we'd been half competent so far we'd be clear in 3rd at least...

To be honest I don't think everyone else has been that bad. I think it's more to do with the fact the PL is the toughest league in the world because there are so many good teams. Only Chelsea are the stand out team. Apart from them it's a dog fight for 2nd, 3rd and 4th because City have shown no consistency either and we all expect Southampton to slip at some point.

I'd generally agree the PL is a tough league, but it's no secret that 18 of the 20 teams this season have been dogshit.

It's not good but very few teams have been consistent, even the ones we would have expected to do better.

It's a bit unpredictable right now and if we can get some cohesive form and some points the picture could change fairly quickly.

Agreed so lets get behind the team! At least we are away which is a good thing because our away support seems to be much better than our home support right now.

I always felt that we would struggle in the first half of the season. It typically takes a half season to start seeing a new style of football come together. If we can keep within touching distance of the top four heading into the new year we could spring a surprise. We have a long way to go yet but football is largely about momentum and confidence. We've been short of both in recent weeks, a couple of wins could turn that around. Hopefully today will kick start that.

Thats great reading, when you exclude the fact that we've dropped points to Sunderland, West Brom, Newcastle, Stoke and Arsenal ;)

That's true, but the worrying thing is that there don't seem to be any signs whatsoever that a new style is even developing, I don't blame Poch as he got a less talented bunch to play much better football at Southampton, seemingly in a short space of time. It's all down to the players IMO, and I don't have a clue how he's gonna whip them into shape as they seem to lack any desire whatsoever :(

Stuff Woolwich I just want the win.

I want the players to show they are behind Pochettino too. Like the Newcastle players have for that twat pardew.

I've been told Verts is a major problem with team morale and Poch ios counting down the days until he can get shot. I really hope this is untrue but the guy is normally reliable that passed it on.

Without wishing to disrespect Hull, we should be expecting three points from this game. At the moment we're hoping for them.

Even if we do win today I don't expect us to beat Everton or even try against Chelsea. We're so inconsistent. Play very well against QPR, get smashed by Liverpool the following week, play well against Sunderland, put in no effort against West Brom, play well first half against Newcastle, fall apart in the second, beat Villa, get dominated by Stoke. If (and thats a huge if because Hulls players actually put in an effort and will look to redeem themselves after the Burnley game while our players couldn't care less) we win today then the manager and players will come out and say "We are on the right track now, we are confident etc" I still expect us to not show up against Everton. We've had "must win" games about 5 or 6 times already this season.
