Well I have heard booing almost every season for 39 years, I did actually see someone complain to a guy once, and he got a punch up the bracket for his trouble. I say it is Internet muscles because in all honesty we don't go and complain to strangers, especially if they look a bit thuggish.

Well if you read my post earlier in the thread you will see i did just that, he booed Jenas when he came on so i called him a dickhead and a brain dead moron, his only response was its only a bit of banter.

from my experience its those who shout the loudest who usually turn out to be cowards when they are confronted .

Im glad this issue has arisen. There was a bloke sitting two rows in front of me giving it some wellie when Jenas came on and I shouted at him and called him a fucking idiot. He turned round (as if he was amazed there was someone who didn't agree that we should boo our own players...) to see who it was shouting at him and I stood up and said 'that was me, you fucking tool. What are you booing your own player for, you moron"!

To my surprise everyone around me voiced their support and that twerp sat down and I didn't hear a peep out of him again throughout the match, not even at the end.

Believe me, I'm no hero, in fact cowards run in my family :) but some things really piss me off.

It's now about whether they're allowed, it's about the fact that it:

A - doesn't help in any way and,

B - makes you look like a right bone-headed cockend.

But if they want to look like a bone-headed cockend, that's up to them.

They pay their money, they have a right to sing, shout, boo and clap.

They are not allowed to smoke, swear, make racial remarks or drink alcohol within the view of the pitch.

I already answered that by saying that this thread has nothing to do with whether or not they're allowed to do it. Of course they're allowed. The thread is about the fact that they're ****s.

Well no wonder people resort to complaining online! Some of these morons are worse than rabid animals

My take on this runs thus...

If you booed, you're a goggle-eyed f**kbox and probably smell of rusks.

I felt like booing from the pub I was in in Bangkok. Absolute dirge from start to finish. The tempo just wasn't there and AVB's changes are up there with Ramos'.

I was optimistic before, but its a shambles.

Best change your profile pic then eh? ;)

I don't agree with booing a particular player but surely it's understandable that people would boo after conceding a last minute goal again? I think fans have a right to express their dissatisfaction after the game when it's not going to be counter productive

jamescOle , seeing as you have not posted in this thread can i ask why you have disagreed with my post above. I have no problem with anyone disagreeing with what i post, but it would be nice to hear why you do instead of ' cut and run"

how else are we/i supposed to let avb know his ''sub merry go round'' cost us the game or that jenas should be nowhere near the squad (loan tf out). offer a little prayer perhaps?

hopefully he will analyse to see if maybe his subs did indeed affect the game in a negative way , and ask one of his henchmen to make a dossier on jenas' spurs history, after all he should be more than a little intrigued as to why a player as well spoken as jj should get booed coming on.

Fair enough, but i still can not understand how dickheads booing one of our players when they are coming onto the pitch wearing a SPURS shirt helps us win a game. And if you think it can then i really do despair.

Agree that it is totally counterproductive to boo our players and team and no mater how bad I am a Spurs SUPPORTER rather than a fan but as James Coles makes the point how do we voice our disapproval. Bottom line is that AVB is our manager and we've got to give him a chance to succeed or fail with us and buying into the media witch hunt doesn't do any justice to THFC At the end of the day as 'Arry says it's not like we're used to winning a lot of EPLs are we?

I haven't disagreed with the original post, I just ignored it, but I do disagree with the original post.

These comments come up fairly regularly, and I always think they are wrong, they are typical of modern Internet bravery, with people saying things they wouldn't dare to in real life. Who is going to walk up to a stranger and say "you disgust me" ? Personally I am disgusted with far more serious things than someone booing. It's about freedom of choice, you pay your money you shout what you want, not what someone else wants.
I'm with you on the keyboard warrior stuff. There is a filter that descends when we're behind the safety of our monitors.

However, the argument that just because you pay money to watch football you have the right to shout what you want is specious. I'll give you a hypothetical:

Do I have the right to purchase a long black hooded cloak? Yes I do.

Do I have the right to purchase a fake scythe? Yes I do.

Because I have spent that money, does that mean that I have the right to put on the cloak, grip the scythe and stand outside an old-age people's home? In the purely legal sense, yes I do.

Do I do it? If I've paid my money for the cloak and the scythe, do I choose to dance around in front of old-people wearing the cloak and waving the scythe?

Why not? I've paid my money. I can do what I want, right?

There is a difference between being able and being willing. Yes, you're able and "allowed" to boo, but you should have the wherewithal, gumption and good sense to understand why you shouldn't.

I'm not going to rise to your internet jibes.

It disgusts me, I feel embarrassed and ashamed for our club when I hear it.

You seem to contradict yourself a bit, people also don't go and boo or call the players ****s to their faces either.
Beautifully argued!

With respect, what will voicing your disapproval actually accomplish?

Sorry, camaj, but how won't it be counter-productive? Footballer's ears don't switch off at the end of the game.
