There must be something about this player I am not aware of as no big clubs are after him it seem. If he's so darn fast, very good in the in the air, good on the ball....why are Barca not snapping him up at £8-9m?! He's got everything that Barca lack in their CD.
He seem like the real deal to me based on reports about him.... but only watched him once and it's hard to judge a player from 1 game, youtube and scouting reports.

That's not how it works... Nationality doesn't matter, it's how long you've been trained in the country. Must be trained in uk for minimum of 3 years prior to turning 21 iirc.

Besides, he was a regular for Sporting the last part of last sesong. And btw, Barca missed out on Thiago Silva, Marquinhos and most likely David Luiz as will, so it is not as if they can have and defender they like..

I said "pretty much" any defender they like. Also, any "reports" on players are just one guys opinion(usually a journalist) at the end of the day, and shouldnt be taken as gospel. We're looking at him as a potential 3rd/4th choice CB, which should tell you that he's not good enough for Barca at this point in time.
