this is a pretty pointless thread, but just wanted to bring it up.

Has anyone seen colin farrell's new film. i saw it last night, sounds childish, but i found myself slightly annoyed at the spurs reference when discussing death.

Then i realised it was pretty acurate, and just went back to watching the film.

For those who haven't seen it, the quote is....

Ray: Purgatory is when you're not really bad and not really good - like Tottenham.

Ha bloody Ha

Well, we're one of the most successful clubs in England overall. We don't have any God-given right to be winning trophies every year, you know? We do okay.

Tottenhams problem as far back as I care to remember is that where consistently inconsistent.

We've alway been an attractive team to watch- score loads of goal but could never perfect the art of defending-which has in the past, always let us down.

I'm preying that we address these critical positions during the close season and would very much welcome a top goal keeper, experienced defender, Davids type experienced midfield player and a natural left winger.

If Berbatov leave we should get Santa Cruz from Blackburn to challenge Bent and Keane.

good point CM - there are about 100 pro clubs in England and hundreds more decent semi-pro teams - we're fifth most successful trophy-wise and on any reasonable criteria one of the top 10 clubs in England

so if we're in purgatory hell must be a-brimming with the likes of West Ham Charlton Barnsley Portsmouth Reading Orient Crewe Grimsby Wigan Boro Stoke all of whom we're way ahead of

A Pedant observes:

Brugge in Flemish
Bruges in French

Is the movie any good?

Not bad actually. Some of the "funny" bits didn't really work for me, but overall a decent watch. Not gonna make anybody's top 100 though.

Rank it about a Freund - decent effort, unsophisticated, never quite scores.

I'd add Newcastle to that list DC, first team that crossed my mind.

Oh how I hate them.
