It's FIFA's choice actually. If he plays Sunday (and having played last night) we would have to prove, in conjunction with FA doctors, that he's not available for selection. Them's the rules.

I think they've tightened up there rules since fergie's day - probably because of him!

Just about more muscle injuries in the last week than since Poch started with us. Hopefully it's not the start of a trend, but after this international break, we have games every three or four days up until 16th of december. Rotation will be needed.

They really are not pointless. The friendlies are against Germany and Brazil with a World Cup next year. Why would any manager play a 2nd team when the first-team needs to be gelling so they're ready for the tournament.

Mostly because national teams gelling in November don't matter much. (Any thing that works now will be long forgotten by next summer as these guys are all on different clubs) The time to come together is next spring, and early summer. Now is a chance to look at some players, maybe try some new tactical approaches - so that, as coaches, you are making the best decisions when you put the squad together next summer.

Putting myself in Kane's shoes (as a striker), I would be hungry to score as many goals as possible - for club and country - even though it's a selfish way of looking at it.
