What is the situation with O Harra? Surely if both teams agree that he should return (Pompey don't want to be paying his wages, or are we paying 100% as part of the Kranky deal?) there should be no problem even if it is a long term (6 month?) loan deal?

Has played ther for city a few times and once against Gerard, alonso and Masherano and came out with great credit. That performance was floating around on youtube not so long ago.

vs. Newcastle:

I reckon he could do a job, although the issue is whether him and Palacios could strike up an understanding in such a short period. If Harry is planning this, hopefully they'll be training in this formation all week.

Termination from the Pompey end would be at the Premier League's discretion.

For the Fulham game O'Hara is cup tied along with Walker+Kaboul.

Wilson and Gudjohnsen maybe?

So if we're going to be without Hudd, Jenas, Lennon, Bentley, King and Kaboul cup-tied then I would suggest going for this team:

..................Gomes
Chalky.....Daws.....Bass.....Benny
Gudjo......Kranky....Pal........Bale
..................Modric
....................Pav

We're going to need an extra man in the middle without Hudd. Defoe can come off the bench if we're behind. Not sure who that leaves on the bench

Alnwick, Crouch, Defoe, Rose and some other youngsters

I would play Kranky where Gudjo is and Gudjo where Modric is. Make it a 5 man midfield at times and get a draw out of it at least. At least with that line up we'd hang onto the ball.

Modric is too far forward in the hole, he needs to play a little deeper to fully influence the game. He shouldn't be moved from the left, nor Bale from fullback. Plus, I'm loathe to drop Defoe or Pav. I'd stick with 4-4-2 and go with Parrett in midfield (presuming he's fit).

Gomes

Cor Daws Bass Bale

Kranc Gudjo Wilson Modders

Defoe Pav

EG in the centre with Wilson could be awesome with the flying croats roaming in front

He is seeing a specialist to determine the extent of the ankle ligament damage, therefore they do not know how long he will be out for.

Although by seeing a specialist it would suggest it is quite a severe injury, which would mean a lengthy period of time. The recovery time could be between 6 weeks to 6 months because everybody responds differently.

It is a potentially nasty injury, as in many cases it never really fully heals, which makes the person susceptible to the same injury. The ankle is also vulnerable to injury anyway because it has to take your weight all the time.

In the long-term Ramsey's injury may actually be preferable because your bone normally strengthens after a break, whereas ligaments do not and possibly weaken.

A slightly different comment on this theme. Anyone know of any experienced central midfielders who are out of contract and so could be signed up? We have some football boffins on this site so who would anyone suggest or recommend - if anyone. Keep it sensible - Hoddle is past it!

This is true to an extent, bone heals stronger after a break and ligaments will always be weaker after an injury, however, I'd be amazed if Ramsay hasn't also done some ligament damage, given that his leg was hanging off and all!!!!

It is only the break that is reported though as that will take the longest to fully heal.

It may also ruin his career, Eduardo isn't setting the world alight is he.
