Any Spurs supporter who can’t get excited about only our 34th Champions League/ European cup fixture in 136 years of existence needs to take a long hard look at themselves, and anybody suggesting they’d not be upset by a loss can just plain fuck off, they don’t deserve to support this great club.

For fuck sake, we’ve had a blip. Nearly three decades ago we were almost bankrupt. Two decades ago we were watching long balls played by John Scales to Steffen Iversen. One decade ago we had just recorded a 0-0 home draw with Wigan in our fifth game of the season, yet to win, having lost three of the previous four and with three more losses to come ahead of our inaugural win of that season.

There may come a time to get stressed. Now is not that time.

I much preferred the 80s with trophies to this incessant chase for 4th place in the league to qualify for a competition we have no chance of winning but satisfies the money men.

Open top bus with silverware vs a copy of the league table please.

Showing the formation on Sky as a diamond in midfield again. I hope not, the starting line-up lends itself to 4231.

My god, is that a 4231... seems like an age. Shame Lucas isn’t starting but he probably needs a break considering how much effort he has been putting in. Pretty much sprints around the pitch for 90 mins.

This is prob harsh on lucas as individuality he has been our best player but it will be good to see if this line up can click again

With Lamela doing well when he came on and Dele back soon the likelihood is Lucas and Son would rotate now and then. I’m fine with that, we wanted squad options and depth and that gives us that. Really want to see a good performance from Eriksen today.

CM is as usual the worry for me, we’re starting a creaking Dembele again and Dier who is in poor form. We really need Wanyama to get match fit and only way is to start him in games, hopefully Brighton. Massive game for Aurier.

As long as we are playing Kane with Lamela and Son ether side I think it will. If we are playing Son and Kane up front in a two then God help us.

Top 3 so naffing what.

Not sure why anyone would take that over lifting FA Cups and a UEFA Cup... a time when they were truly seen as top competitions.
