Anyone got a report on how our other players (we all know how JD did) got on last night in World Cup qualifiers/friendlies? Wilson, Gio, Luca, Charlie, Keano, Pav?

Ireland were largely asleep/disappointing/shite. Keano showed a few moments of magic but the Aussies looked very capable. I know you guffaw at this but it's as it was.

Both Luka and Charlie played very well. Luka played as CM (Kranjcar played as LM first half, Mandzukic 2nd half), and was involved a lot defensively, because the other CM was taking care of Hleb, so he had a lot of pitch to cover, which he did very good. Offensively, because Belarus were crowded in the middle of the pitch and were paying very, very close attention to Luka, attacking was switched to flanks to great success - all of three Croatia's goals were made after ball came from flanks. I would say Luka is on about 90 pct of full sharpness. Charlie played as RB 1st half, because of the other guy's injury was switched to CB, where he made no mistake & showed excellent reading of the game. I think Belarus had something like one shot at target.
Anyway, signs for Liverpool game, regarding Cro-spurs, are definitively promising.

Scotland were awful.
Ref was a clown.

Hutton played well, but may be injured after getting taken out ever single time he attempted to run down the wing.

Hutton played well? I thought he was well below average, as was the whole Scotland team.

Hutton did better than most of the other scots, and the supposed target Scott Brown was utterly rubbish.

Shows how football is such a game of opinion and perspective, because watching that very same game I thought Hutton was one of the weak links in an already very weak chain.

He constantly was caught out defensively leaving a man free and the back line exposed.

Watching the Russia v Argentina game on ESPN. Pavlyuchenko started on the bench. The commentator said that he turned up late so he could stay and play in the friendly against Olympiakos.

I watched the Honduras vs Costa Rica game and Wilson played a blinder. Strong in midfield, plenty of powerful runs forward and involved in three of their four goals. I was very impressed with the whole Honduras team and Cossly who scored 2 also played very, very well.
Costa Rica started well but for group leaders seemed to lack interest in the whole affair and were really happy when the full time whistle went

Gio, to my knowledge didn't play in Mexico's 2-1 win over the US. Frankly, although Mexico won, the US was by far the better team and I believe they'll end up group winners above Costa Rica, Honduras and Mexico.

Hutton wasn't good, but Jesus, he was waaaaay better than Glen Johnson was last night. Johnson really is awful defensively, and last night only highlighted that.

We should make sure Modric is on the left on Sunday because he will absolutely destroy Johnson.

I thought he was awlful against Babel's pace which made me think maybe Lennon would be the way to go
