I was taking a look at the league table and noticed the following.

Away we have won 5, drawn 1 and lost 2 games giving us 16 points. (Exactly the same as Arsenal joint best in the away form table.)

At home we have won 3, drawn 2 and lost 3 games giving us 11 points. (Joint 11th in the home league table.)

Does this mean the problem is a little closer to home then some fans like to think?

Seriously, our away form has been better. Perhaps the home support is intimidating as AVB suggested.

Our away form seemed better in the early part of last season too if I recall. I just put it down to more teams coming out and being slightly more open when they're at home.

In fairness we aren't the only team City have put 6 past this season at the Etihad.

It's certainly a big problem, Man UTD are having a similar problem. When you're not playing with great confidence it's often easier to play away from home.

We are lacking confidence badly, you could see it again yesterday, it's like any free flowing natural attacking football as been bashed out of the team, even when we break it's only done half hearted so we end up stopping and playing backwards. It's like the pressure is too much at home, away from home there is much more positive support and to be honest less intimidating. I think Sherwood will encourage a bit more freedom, at least I hope he does and hopefully over the following few games this will start to make a change to confidence

Hang on, haven't we known this for a while now?
