As good as Toby and Jan have been, the biggest contribution to our solid defence has been Dier playing DM.
True this. I was very skeptical about Dier in DM position at the start of the season, but it was an absolute masterstroke by Poch.

Wimmer has looked promising vs Lei and yesterday. I think he's solid defensively, but obviously not as strong on the ball than Vert.

It didn't look good at all the way he fell. Just hope it's not too bad and he's back for the City game.

Still no word on this? Will be a big loss if he misses more then a couple of games

Realistically going to be a lot longer than that. Even a couple of months would be a result really when you see someone's knee twist like that.

Pleased we have the FA Cup game next weekend, hopefully enough time for Jan to recover.

If he's not fit I'd put Dier in at CB and bring Mason (if he's back) or Bentaleb in midfield for the Norwich game.

No way I would drop Dier back into defence. Wimmer has looked great when he has played and Dier is crucial to our defensive record in midfield.

I have no worries at all about Wimmer.

I broke a metatarsal when I was about 13 jumping across the stream behind Walthamstow town hall on my way to the new baths.
The rest is history.

History indeed. Up their amongst the Agincourt and the D Day Landings. Everyone remembers where they were when Mr D broke his metatarsal. I was in the queue at Woolworths paying for my pick n mix

Baker's Arms? I bought my first 45 there.
Anyway, it was quite a leap. You should try it sometime. Or you could use the little footbridge. I wished I had.

It's Safeway not Woolworths.

I have fractured ribs and my lower arm. Both incredibly painful. When I fractured my ribs I was playing Aussie rules and got kneed in the chest. Played out the rest of the match and then played in a final the week after. Went to the doctors after that and was told the pain was because my ribs were screwed.

As with all things physiological responses are variable. For some on here to take their specific negative/painful experiences and extrapolate that into a general gold standard by which to diagnose Jan's situation is folly. As others have noted by their experiences not all ACL tears are painful. Some however are excruciatingly (see what I did there) painful. Hopefully it's nothing more that a 2-3 week MCL.
