If it is true and it certainly seems that Berba is going to leave then I'd take £25m plus Gattuso. Milan will be back to there best next season, they have already added Flamini and Zambrotta both of which will improve their side a lot. Berba would be a great addition for them.

Gattuso would be a perfect fit for us and the money can be used directly to sign a replacement striker as it seems we have the funds to put the other pieces of our squad together. If that £25m goes towards someone like Eto'o and we end up having Eto'o and Gattuso, then losing Berba would be somewhat easier to stomach.

Would you play Guttuso in the middle of a 442? Or would you rather him play ina central 3 or even on the right of a 442 in the role Davids played for us on the left. FSC show a lot of Italian football, so I've been watching loads more recently and find it so difficult to judge how players there would fit in here. When i watch Gattuso I always like what i see, but I'm not sure how it would be best for us to use him. I'm not a big fan on the idea of him in th emiddle of a 442, even with a creative player next to him. I just can't see many exmples of this really working. I think thesedays both CMs have to be really good on the ball. Obviously he'd fit in well in a 3CM. But, I think I'd like to see him on the right. I know this makes for defensive and unispiring football and people much prefer the creativity, speed and trickery of a winger, but if you look at the sides that have come closest to breaking the top 4 monopoly Everton 2005/2008 and us in 2006, both teams put midfield solidity ahead of free flowing football. In this respect I think Gatusso would be perfect.

This is opportunistic bullsh!t.

That said if Milan could afford him then he'd definitely want to go i think. forget all this literal interpretation of Champions League footy crap. Milan are one of the biggest and most succesful clubs in World football. There's not an English club who can hold a candle to them in terms of what they've won, it would be a dream move for any player and if they've had a bad season this year, so what? It's inconceivable that they won't be back in CL next.

It's pretty clear that Milan are going on a rebuilding offensive this summer and they will want the best they can get in which case it's pretty obvious they would go for Berbatov.

Whether it's a done deal or not I don't know but I've got absolutely no doubt they are negotiating.

Its obvious that we will be getting Ronaldo and a couple of his lady boys in return for Berbatov

Nice one Levy sell him to european club when euro is so high-80p/euro as apposed to 60p/euro a year ago.
This means we can buy British cheaper? Ashton anyone?

errr, I don't follow you. If we want say £30m for Berba (not saying that is the figure, just using it as an example), that is roughly 37.5m euros today whereas it was around 45m euros a year ago. So whereas a year ago he was probably priced out of the market, now we can still get what we want for a transfer fee while those who trade in euros see it as better value.

And I can't see how we can buy players based in England any cheaper. We all work in GBP, so exchange rates between the £ and euro don't matter a jot.

This is made up.

We've still received no bid over £20m and Berbs hasn't talked to any other club whatsoever.

it will be jarring if he leaves but like its been said before if he's doesnt want to be at the club then nowadays players have the upper hand and can engineer a move away.

Hes a great player but apart from the cup final this year the only other outstanding game I remember him having was against Reading when we won 6 - 4, and that was at the start of January when all of a sudden he started to look interested again.

Its a shame if he leaves but I'm sure Levy will squeeze every penny out of the club he eventually goes to.

same here mate! i was hoping that if berba left it would be to one of those teams! every cloud has a silver lining i guess.

to be fair we really fucked it up last summer in the transfer market by signing bent, kaboul and boateng.

In your opinion. I have no problem with these signings as I firmly believe that we are still yet to see the best of them, whether they stay with us or not.

I would play him in a midfield 3 personally, but I don't see a reason why he couldn't play in central pairing expecially with the way our forwards drop so deep. With a player who is very good on the ball next to him it would be fine, especially if we have the creativity of Modric drifting in from the left. We'll see, I'm sure it won't happen.
