I would play him in a midfield 3 personally, but I don't see a reason why he couldn't play in central pairing expecially with the way our forwards drop so deep. With a player who is very good on the ball next to him it would be fine, especially if we have the creativity of Modric drifting in from the left. We'll see, I'm sure it won't happen.

Milan play:

Kaka - Gattuso - Pirlo - Seedorf

don't they? Therefore we could go almost like for like with:

Modric - Gattuso - Veloso/A.N.Other - Lennon

No. Kaka plays as an ACM and Pirlo as a very deep, just in front of the back four D/CM.

Sometimes Milan even play four midfielders, eg Pirlo, Ambrosini, Gattuso, Seedorf, and Kaka in the hole behind a lone striker.

In your opinion. I have no problem with these signings as I firmly believe that we are still yet to see the best of them, whether they stay with us or not.

If we have seen the best from them then we're in trouble...

From what i've seen they usually play with 5 in midfield, that usually includes Ambrossini, Pirlo, Gattusso, Seedorf and Kaka (who plays a more advanced role). When they play a 4, i don't think they'd ever use a wide player in the Lennon mould. I don't think they even really have one. A typical Milan midfiled 4 would be something like Ambrossini, Pirlo, Gattuso and Seedorf. Basically, more similar to how we played when Davids first came to the club and we used JJ on the right.

AC Milans system looks like this:

---------------------------Pato-------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
-------------Seedorf----------------Kaka---------------
-------------------------------------------------------
------Ambrosini-----------Pirlo--------------Gattuso----
-------------------------------------------------------

OR

-------------------Pato--------Gilardino----------------
-------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------Kaka------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------
-------------Seedorf----------------Gattuso-----------
-------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------Pirlo------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------

I think We'll be playing a fluid 442 next season, with 2 DM's, 2 wingers/AM's drifting inside and wide as and when, and 2 strikers (one of which dropping into the whole at times). Gattuso could work really well as one of the DM's.

I tend to believe Dan in stories like this, he never claims to be ITK ie potential signings but just confirms or denies things. He denied the Kameni story that was on here last week and so far we have heard no more so called 'ITK' about that one.

Not ITK, but I've been saying for a long tme that I'd be amazed if Berbatov goes because I can't see any top club wanting to pay over £20m for him. He's simply not worth more than that. Except to us. It's for that reason i think Berbatov will here next season, unless he screws us over and kicks up a fuss and we have to sell for £18m-£20m.

I said a couple of months ago that i could see AC spending big this year - they desperately want to get back up there with Inter and start competing with the top, top teams and their current squad just isn't up to it. They've got plenty of cash to throw about, a good solid fanbase and the rep - Berbatov could become a legend there, whereas he'd just be another really good Man U player if he headed north.

 And why would he be "screwing us over" if he was sold for 20 mill? That's still 9 mill profit on him after 2 years, and considerably more than he'll be worth come the Autumn heading towards being able to buy out his contract in January 09 under Webster as soon as he turns 28.

As Wellspurs said, DL is obviously trying to get him to sign a new contract and he's not interested in a big wage increase, the man wants to move on.

just got this from: http://www.spurs.vitalfootball.co.uk

At this time of year is great if you love a rumour. Everyday a new player is linked to be joining or leaving, 99% is usually total rubbish, often started with an 'In the know' within the club, or just bored or lazy journalism.

Which ones we have today, well take your pick, according to reports Dimitar Berbatov is on the brink of joining AC Milan, talks have already taken place and the deal will be wrapped up very soon.

An early sale of Berbatov may be down to Milan making Spurs an offer they cannot refuse, perhaps a player plus cash deal to suit both parties. I expect Milan to be the summer`s biggest spenders, along with Chelsea of course.......

Under normal circumstances I would have expected Tottenham to sit tight and wait for the bids come in and sell to the highest bidder or are they looking to get a huge cheque in to swell their coffers for a couple of major signings themselves?

Other names widely talked about in the last 24 hours are Sporting Lisbon's versatile Miguel Veloso, who is equally at home playing as a defensive midfielder or in the centre of defence.

Reports have also linked him with Manchester United, who with their links with Sporting, would be strong favourites, but seemingly they are more interested in Wigan`s Wilson Palacios.

A rumour back from the dead is that Spurs are back in for Lasagna Disarray, who only moved to Portsmouth in January after an equally short spell at the Emirates.

The theory is that Arsenal were reluctant sellers and didn`t want to sell to their beloved neighbours and as we are now great mates with Pompey after gifting them Jermain Defoe they will sell us Diarra to return the favour, for a small profit of course....

Last but possibly least is another old link, this time Anton Ferdinand who has struggled for both form and fitness after a very bright start. Reports suggest that Spurs are looking to offer £6 million, which seems a little high in my opinion as a fee upfront.

Before we all dismiss this as a waste of ink, what we must consider is that ANTON Ferdinand has a very similar playing style to his elder brother RIO you may have heard of him at some team in the North West.

Though I am not saying Anton is currently as good as his elder, equally ugly brother, his style may well suit that of Jonathan Woodgate perfectly; Woodgate's partnership with Rio when they were both at Leeds was superb, so this could actually be a very shrewd move by Tottenham.

This is made up.

We've still received no bid over £20m and Berbs hasn't talked to any other club whatsoever.

I keep losing hope that we're going to keep him and then I read one of your posts and get excited that he's staying again!

If he does stay I will happily buy you a pint one day.
