I think he will go abroad simply due to the fact that a Euro team is more likely to meet the asking price - Man utd are unlikely to spend £30m on him but a foriegn team would as players from England currently represent good value for money for foreign teams due to current exchange rate.

30 mil j = 38 mil euro. not the greatest bargain one can imagine.

I know it must be an insider on the subject, however im just curious...

Seen as no ones asked it must be obvious, so apologies in advance

If we survived letting the likes of Greaves and Hoddle go, we can survive letting Berbatov go.

Yes, ofcourse we'll survive and move on and possibly even go forward, being optimistic, however that was in an era when the world of Football was a completely different place, and success not concentrated on a few clubs where practically all the best players flock to.

If you don't like the message don't come into the thread. Dragon1 is one of the more respected ITKs.

Since when could we not come into a thread because we didn't like something about it? How fucking dull would this forum be if we all stuck to that? Fuck.

And who gives a shit if he's a "respected" ITK or not? He's still an ITK. What is there to respect about that?

Sorry to pick you out nidge. I don't mean to. I love you really and you knows it. I'm tired.

I think Berbs owes it to us to give it until January and if we're not meeting his expectation then fair enough, let him go.

I'm personally getting fed up to the back teeth with all this Berbatov Bullshit (yes, that's the new official term; feel free to use it). His agent says one thing, then he says another. The press say one thing and his agent says another. He says one thing and the press say another. ENOUGH!!!

My message to Berbatov would be if you want to go that badly, then f*** off and stop wasting our time and money. If you don't want to go, then say so categorically and fire that **** of an agent. If you don't know, stop talking to the sodding press and STILL fire that **** of an agent. Put Dantchev on the next fishboat back to Sofia so he can stop tarnishing the silver with the stench of his money-grubbing.

Anyway, one thing's for damn sure: Levy and Comolli had better make sure he isn't driving into Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge (or even, God help us, the Scum Factory) of a Saturday or there'll be blood (metaphorical blood, but blood just the same).

Whatever happens, Berbatov or no Berbatov, we all better hope and pray that we get some real talent in and in the right areas, and quickly, or we'll be back to warming 10th place again.

If he's here til January then he can buy out the remained of his contract (over 28 and seen through two years of originally agreed contract) then he can buy his way out(for about 2 million) of his contract and leave,
Imagine how many clubs would offer a nice big tidy signing on bonus which pays for him buying his way out?,
To be totally honest (and no one can blame him)would you stay? the way results have gone since we won the carling cup have been absolutely terrible, the team look as if they couldn't care less, i think they should go out week in, week out and earn the right to wear the shirt not turn up and make a half assed effort, it royally pisses me off to watch the crap we've watched since the cup final, so if you was in Berbatov's shoes watching us struggle every game (watching Dawson,Huddlestone and Steed play as bad as they did today)would you really want to stay?

Dragon1 is one of the most respected ITKs on COYS?

COYS is people in meltdown; where the no-eyed man is queen (of Hearts).

I dunno about you, but I thought Gus's interview after today's match sounded as if they know he'll be going, and Ramos's comments in the press about "if big money offers come in for him it's good, that means he is a great player" is just the start of negotiations and him planning who he'll buy with the money.

Gazetta Dello Sport reporting that Milan have signed an agreement with Drogba...as Shevchenko is also supposed to be going there...we'll see where Berba ends up. But as I keep telling you, don't be surprised if it is another PL team......as long as it isn't scum and scummer I don't mind either way.

If Berbs leaves I'd consider building around a system where Bent leads our line, much like Liverpool and go with a 4-2-3-1,

Im resigned to him going, he showed moments pf absolute class in the first half yesterday, but faded in the second and he also looked gutted when he left the pitch. So I say we should approach Real Madrid, offer them Berbs for 20-25 million and that young midfielder on loan at Gatafe. We then offload Berbi abroad, also get a quality centre mid, that we are absolutely crying out for and enough money to buy " a world class" player

Honestly it won't be the end of the world if Berbatov left... his no way bigger than the club (which some make him out to be) many better players have come and gone from this famous club. IMO we could do better without Berbatov if (big if) Comoile and Ramos utilize efficiently the ransom we'll receive.

I am of this opinion and have been fo a fair few months.
One player doesn't make a team.

we need a striker who can keep up with lennon, we seem to be a breaking team, but unless Keane holds the ball up we dont get anywhere with this tactic due to the lack of pace.

jenas is the only player currently able to keep up wth lennon and he cant do it all the time, bin berbatov get a kerzhakov/kuyt type striker as 3rd man and play bent up with keane, but for ffs stop switching lennon to the left and get a decent midfielder to replace zokora or jenas to the bench.

It will be a sad day when berbatov leaves.

I find it hilarious when people comment on him being lazy in games and inconsitant. seriously!?

You get players that swan about all the time but that doesn't make them lazy. thats just there style. if you're critisizing his style then your mad.

I believe with a decent mid set up he could do great things for us. but according to "ITK" i guess we'll never know.
