How about Farfan?

looked good against us, wouldnt say no

bought him on FM 2008 and playing him on the left, great signing lol, aswell as Van der Vaart in place of Jenas and Joaquin on the right

if only it was that easy in real life to change a midfield completely with world class quality, it was the first thing I did aswell as a better GK and is what we need to do next transfer window

The fact is he's a wingey old woman who likes to throw embarassing hissy-fits whilst still imagining/deluding himself that the likes Man Utd are going to be interested him.

Let's look at the facts: He could've whelched on his gentleman's agreement to come to us from Levekusen and gone to MU in the Summer of 2006 after Fergie tried to woo him. He said no.

Fergie made another attempt before he signed Tevez last Summer. Spurs said no.

He's not a £25m player by any stretch. He's an £18m player tops

I agree his estimation should be nearer to 20 mill than the ridiculous 40 that's been quoted by the Sunday Mirror. However Berba (and his Agent) have never agreed with those made up figures in the press, and always rubbished them.
He said he was surprised Spurs paid 10.9 mill for him, so don't imagine he has an inflated view of himself being worth a record British transfer fee, he doesn't.
They both want Spurs to set a realistic figure to facilitate a move amicable to both sides, and Danchev is having talks with Levy later this week. It's been reported (whether it's true or not I don't know) that in their negotiations last September a fee to sell was agreed this Summer if we did not make it into the CL. He also received a small increase in wages, though money is not an issue for him, unlike many footballers today.

He needs to learn that the team is the star and that he's not as good as his compatriots and some Spurs fans keep trying to convince him he is.

Remember that cold night up at Citeh when we were reduced to 10 men after 7 minutes, and he played up front alone and totally dominated the match? Was that not playing for the team? Winning that cup tie set us on the road to winning our first trophy for 9 years (and shattered Sven's dreams of going to Wembley).

Get in some winners, chuck the dead-weight and lets turn berbatov into a true great. The striker some of you fool yourselves into believing he already is.

I don't fool myself. I can see that his second season has not been as great as his first in spite of the stats. He admitted himself he wasn't playing well earlier in the season. His finishing is not clinical enough, and he misses too many chances, that's plain to see. What I drool over is his sublime touch, the way he plucks the ball out of the sky and controls it in an instant, his balletic elegance, and the fact he possesses qualities that are different to the normal run of the mill player in England today (not counting the likes of Hoddle and Gazza et al from past eras).

However I appreciate sloth, whatever I say won't change your view of him, but I wanted to get it off my chest.

On the money side of things - don't do what i do all the time and actually rate a player in comparison to their worth to me as a fan. When valuing a player clubs also consider the draw, the merchandise, any chance of building a new fanbase from them amongst tons of other stuff, one of them being the revenue that players effect on the team could generate.

On that note, Berbatov can be considered worth all of that £40m and more, IF he can maintain the technique and skill he does currently.

Also consider though the reverse of the value coin - aside from the obvious ones, like age, they also tie in the downsides of a player; attitude, effect on morale, sell on value and, most importantly, likelyhood of losing that player to injury.

Dimi is, if nothing else, a tough cookie - his injuries haven't lead to any real long term absences from the side and, from that natural ability to avoid the wreckless and to withstand punishment if needed, both only add to his value.

Good points rocksuperstar. Real Madrid's takings have certainly gone down on merchandise/shirt sales since Becks left.

Hopefully he won't dump Berba and take the bear with him...

Honestly, I love Berbs as much as anyone else but I'm about ready to drag him to Italy myself and drop him off at the San Siro with a not that says: "finder's keepers"--will it be Inter or AC? Who knows...either way we can all get on with our lives...

Perhaps I would add to that note something about a huge fee as well, might be better business...

The day I listen to ITK is the day the monkey from the PG Tips adverts becomes Prime Minister.

My mate stars opposite the monkey from the PG Tips ads in their new long promo ("Tale of Two Continents", 8 mins long and shown in some cinemas).

If you've seen it he's the lad who offers Monkey tea on the train about 7 mins in.

Probably not gonna be his big break but still... :hump:
