There are very strong rumours in Cork that Cork City have agreed to sell striker Roy O'Donovan(21) to Spurs for €1,000,000 and he will become the first million euro player in the Eircom League. Apparently the Spurs scouts have been over to see him 2-3 times over the last 2 months and have liked what they saw.

Very quick striker/right winger but whether he's good enough for the premiership is very questionable. Celtic also interested.

The other thing to consider is Bulgaria's Euro 2008 qualifier 4 days later away to Belarus..... I would imagine as it is a vital game for them, that the Bulgarian FA will invoke the 5 day ruling and demand players report for International duty on the 28th....... can't really see them letting anyone off for any reason........

Southampton insist £10m for Bale - no conditions, just £10million.
Thus no fee agreed.

As for Bale, he isn't against the idea of a move. But he would like Old Trafford.

In Moscow for the week before I fly back to Oz. Met some Spartak officials and two agents last night and ended up at the Courvisier Bar on Sretenka Boulevarde at 4am which is an unassuming bar/cafe but a fave hang out of one of these guys. Lots of nice eye candy out after 1am. Its nearly 11am and I have just woken up with a massive vodka headache after too much vodka, blini and caviar. Dont believe the 'young dont get hangovers drinking vodka' stories. The agents are trying to tie up deals with Spartak at the moment and have a fair bit of information on transfers. They were involved with the Stipe Pletikosa transfer from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk for a reported USD$3m fee and have a couple of big irons in the fire at the moment.

The ECL final. Moscow money is on Milan big time and and there is a general feeling that there may be an upset due to Mafia interests wanting the outsider to win. All of the Spartak guys think that Milan is a lay down misere but are in awe of the English fighting spirit.
The agents are generally dismissive of the EPL as a 'money pit' that is still not attracting world class players. They know of some of our clubs activity. Spurs interest in Kaboul got a guernsey. These guys think he is a really big one for the future and that our policy of buying before they get to the next level is a good one. They rate him as one of the three best CB propsects in Europe under 23 years of age. We were making enquiries about Alexis Ruano of Getafe as well and were very interested before Valencia sealed the deal a few weeks ago. We are one of a number of clubs who have enquired about Daniel Alves but the wages are prohibitive. The agents feel that our wage structure will hold us back and stop us getting really good quality players. We are still monitoring Nani apparently and there is a feeling that Levy is persistant for a reason on this one. They dont think our squad with the exception of Berbatov, King and Jenas can take us higher then we are. Feel we have too many ordinary players.
Their tips for the big shock moves this Summer? Henry to Barca (yes its still on), Torres to Manure and Villa to Chelsea. Etoo's relationship with Barca is not good. The genral feeling is that if a good enough offer comes in they will offload. Agents representing clubs have been contacted with this information. But you knew that already.

Some interesting ITK info I was told last night at the Football Writers Association Player of the Year dinner. Clive Allen was there but, unfortunately was sat on the top table on a raised stage so I thought it might be a bit cheeky to clamber up there and quiz him about our transfer targets.

Got talking to someone VERY senior at Charlton through a mutual friend and asked him the obvious question. He told me that Darren Bent has told the club he wants to move to Spurs but that the club were determined to hold out for the highest bidder. They have received 6 written offers and Spurs' offer was "not in the top three". Said it could get messy as they were prepared for a game of chicken with the player as it was so vital that they squeeze every last penny out of his transfer.
Also had a chat with Lawrie Sanchez. Very impressive guy - can see him being a great leader of men. Seemed very bullish about Fulham next year. Got talking about Spurs and he said he had put a bid in for JD but didn't hold out much hope of getting him which he thought was a shame because whilst JD was "not good enough for Spurs nowadays" he would be a sensation" at Fulham.
Lastly, some non-Spurs related ITK - Lampard's agent said that the Special One was definitely a gonner and that Frank was not signing a new contract as the club would not tell him who the new manager was. He will wiat to see if the new manager fancies him and, if not, will follow Jose whwerver he goes next.

First bit is about Defoe’s engagement party:

Only no shows Jol and Keano, Keano was visiting friends in Ireland. Definately leaving says its personal Jol does not like him and does not talk to him. He realises he has'nt progressed his game as he should have still reckons his 20 goals in the circumstances was a decent return. Gets on with everyone else at the Club but wants to get on reckons if Jol went he'd stay even if it meant working from the bench. other news back in the frame for Bale slight favourites Manure have stepped back and not so keen. Kaboul NOT at the Lane at the weekend still very confident of getting him

Ok finally here is what I found out over a few pints, steak and chips (with pepper sauce. Some of this may not happen. Its just the opinions of the guys I was with! I shall not be saying he said what though!!

Rob Burch should be off to MK Dons...He is definetly leaving the club!
Charlie Lee is off...Perhaps to the Orient.
Barcham, Barnard and Daniels have 1 season left on contract...
Mckenna, Ifil, Forecast and O'hara all have 2.

They rekon Defoe WILL be here next season.

Berba is a class act, keeps himself to hiself and is pretty quiet. When he 1st joined he asked the youngsters a lot of questions about the club...They said it seemed pretty strange as if hes agent had just said sign here...Rather than knowing much about us himself...
Said he has settled in though and is a really top, down to Earth bloke!

Dervitte is supposed to be HUGE! Said he is half decent and likes to start arguments when they go out at the weekend!

Once again this is all opinions/advice I've heard...Some of it may not happen so don't get the oik if I am wrong!

Finally my favourite bit of gossip...Edgar Davids argument with MJ...
Apparently a training match was going on with Jol as referee...He gave a decision against Edgar...An argument started with Davids questioning who Jol used to manage...Saying they are sh*t and he used to score against them all the time!! He also questioned how Jol got the Spurs job!
Jol told him to go inside...
Davids apparently walked into the physio room and said "I'm off"
And wasnt seen again!!

Right, this is something that my friend told me, and I am only passing it on cause I thought that you lot would want to know. He spoke today with someone at the club and they have told him the following:

We have made bids for 2 MAJOR (emphasis on MAJOR) signings today, that do not include those that we already know. They would not go any further on who they are but when they talked about it, the person was getting very excited about it.

We also have definatly bought most of the High Road to expand the ground. It gives us 2 options, either to build on what we have got already(i.e expand the current stands), or turn 90 degrees and build that way. The ground will be a capacity of atleast 55,000 but they are hoping to get 60,000 capacity ground.

This is all happening because the club finished in Europe again, and showed to the board that the consistancy is now there. The club feel that they have the mometum with them at the moment and are keen to keep it going. This is why Jol was so happy on Sunday when he made his speach, he knew that he was going to get a shed load of money for players and re building was definatly going to happen.
