Kane needs to be the main man, he’s not in this setup. Southgate seems to have set the team up to try and showcase Mason Mount’s ability to cut in from the wing and do fuck all, and Phillips and Rice to pass sideways.

He’s such a negative coach. England have some brilliant attacking talent, players on the bench who can change games given the right instruction.

It’s all being wasted under Garry Southgate, and anything this team achieves (And they’ll be lucky to make the QF stage imo) will be in spite of him not because of him.

Almost every time the ball came to him he lost it, Southgate subbed him for a reason.

James is brilliant but when you set up with that double pivot the whole tempo for the game is set and everyone looked poor.

Blame individuals if you want but the whole team was set up wrong and the tempo was awful ad a result.

That second half was crying out for DCL. First sub should have been Sterling <> Grealish, then Kane <> DCL, and after that Foden <> Rashford. If nothing else, at least Foden looked interested. Don't understand why he was first off. Oh well.

What a complete waste of 2hrs that was. Woeful from England, positioning was way too rigid and with no movement there were no real passing options for whoever had the ball. Coupled with the painfully slow play that was just an awful game to watch. We'll get fucked by any decent team if that's how we're going to play.
