There seems to be a narrative forming that England were poor and Scotland were good as a result. Let's get it right. England were poor, but Scotland were worse. That Scotland played somewhat above their normal standards doesn't mean they were the better team. It just illustrates how utterly shite they actually are.

This was not a good advert for British football.

My issue is that when Kane doesn't have a great game, its focused on like he's the reason we didn't win.

His poor performances are a symptom of a poor side. Had we created a bucket load that he'd wasted then you'd blame him and him alone. To do it when our entire team were shit from back to front is wrong.

I don't care what pundits say, he looked off top form, I don't think he is solely the reason England lost, but he definitely didn't look tip top.
'he looked off form' you say .What service did he get to get off a strike on goal as a striker.?

If you want a poacher with no pace who's only role is to convert chances, you might as well call up Defoe. Kane is in the team because he's meant to make brilliant runs, drop deep, pull off passes, offer an aerial threat, hold the ball up. He showed very, very little of that today.

Man, he looked off it, its not a crime to say it. You think he was good that's your opinion. I thought he had a stinker, chill out.

Kane was poor, piss poor by the standards we know, but he's as good as the others around him.

In the first half alone he was unmarked in the box twice, and Mount decided to shoot straight at a player... Twice!

I think the biggest thing I have noticed as a neutral, is that Wales and Scotland players are full of pride, playing out of their skins leaving everything on the pitch. England have a great squad, but just don't seem to have that pride of other home nation teams.

I don't know if it's pressure getting to them, or they just think they can walk these types of games, but how many players in that England team can honestly say they put 100% into that game tonight? Ask the Scotland players the same question and they can all walk away proud.

I've been out for every England game since Euro 16 bar the lockdown. Never ever seen a nasty atmosphere like tonight.

I was at the NI v England game in 2015 I think, we beat you 1 - 0, the English fans were shouting Fenian and Paddy at us... it was quite amusing as while sectarian it showed a great lack of understanding of both Politics and UK regions.

I wont chill out. You turned what I originally said. I was supporting Kane against the pundits
having a go against him and them not criticising other players. Then you criticise him when he got fuck all service. Southgate is a twat manager. Either include our best striker and play to his strengths or exclude him and play the media driven players.

Painting by numbers. Same game. Different days.

why leave Sterling on and take of Foden.

why take off Kane. And leave Sterling on?

why not bring on Calvert Lewin. And go direct.

why continue to play the same fucking football when it wasn’t working.

feels like our manager search. Same shit different day.

I think England is struggling for a national identity in more than one way these days. Scottish and Welsh nationalism is pretty strong and they're proud of their heritage and it shows on the pitch. Always been that way. Not sure English nationalism is about the same values as those two these days, but that's a whole other thread I imagine!

If your seen as an English nationalist your seen as a BNP supporter and pro nazi, I don't think its fair.

Mate we hale Kane as a £150m forward, if you don't see comparing him to Pickford is a little odd I dunno.
I wasn't comparing him to Pickford, I was comparing him to everyone else except Pickford.

They're the English nationalists with the loudest voices in a lot of cases, sadly, so a lot tarred with the same brush

I must have missed it. As THE England striker please advise when he was given the ball by the midfield to put the ball in the net. I'm looking after my granddaughter so I may have missed that one particular moment.

I disagree slightly on this. For me he's a creator and a deadly marksman. The only time he really looked like himself today was when he found space on the edge of the box, dummied a defender and cut in on his left. The shot was blocked by two more Scottish defenders, but that was him doing what we know he can do.

I always think his aerial ability is over stated. He does well at winning fouls, but he's never bullied defenders. He's also not got the pace he used to have, which was never a massive amount to be fair.

I'll agree that he showed little today. When he dropped deep or out wide there was often little on, although he did create that chance for James.

Without movement off him he won't create much and without service he won't get a chance to score.

Harry has been atrocious in these opening two games. Yes he's had little service but he's had not much better in a Spurs shirt for the last year and still banged in goals. The point is something is way off either in his legs physically or his mind mentally. He's been behind the play too much.
