Vlahovic or toney are the best options right now imo.

Toney can do it all, hold the ball up, play others in, deadly finisher and excellent penalty taker. Perfect opportunity to nab him. Only 2 years left on his contract too.

He would also cost a ridiculous amount.
Yeah one would think. I have no clue as to contract situation etc but I’d be surprised if they didn’t ask for a lot considering his numbers. Personally for me the betting thing just puts me off, how much of an idiot can you be to do that for 4 years. I know in the grand scheme of things it’s not that bad (footballers have done far worse) and supposedly his last offence was in 21 but still for me it puts me off. And like others have said above, for the money it would take there are better longer term options and in general I think we should be looking to lower the average age and build for the future.

Personally I’m surprised we haven’t been linked to his teammate, Mbeumo. I think he’d be perfect for us off the right.
What's his dribbling like though? He seems like a counter attacking player to me. Would have been a good option under Jose.

Maybe. I just feel like he’s one of those players that terrifies defenders when he gets on the ball. Admittedly I’ve only watched him play against us though….

Met him at a beach club in Dubai when I was over there filming golf last November. Seemed like an arse tbh. Same week World Cup started

not for me, would rather see how much villa would want for watkins
Another v.decent player that the selling club would demand an absolutely absurd fee for.

Villa have big ambitions so the only way he'd be remotely affordable is if he doesn't sign a new deal and Villa are forced to sell next summer.

He's too one-dimensional for me, and I don't see him as an upgrade on Richy.

I'd rather get a high-potential player in like Orban (or like we've arguably already done with Veliz) than pay a PL-premium on players like Watkins.

I think Watkins is a more well rounded player than Richy - his link up play is way ahead - but I agree that we should be looking outside of the PL for a striker.

Players like Watkins and Toney would be more straight (if inferior) replacements for Kane in that they are well-rounded forwards who can do a bit of everything you want from a typical 9: hold the ball up, score goals, link up the attack, run the channels.

Under Ange we don't need all of that. We need more of a specialist that's quick, has good movement and can finish moves in the box. I dont think we necessarily need to spend like 70-80m quid on a hugely expensive PL striker to get those qualities.

Agreed, and maybe I should have added that I don't see him as enough of an upgrade on Richy.

Same with Toney, to be honest. And Toney seems like a dickhead character as well. Probably someone you wouldn't want in the dressing room, and that's even before his betting problems.

Once due diligence is done I doubt we go anywhere near Toney personally.
I made similar comments on here and got more disagrees than I’ve ever had despite saying that I knew more than has already been in the press !
