If we lose Kane there's no point buying Toney who can't play for, what, 3 months of the season! We need to get a good start, and be up there to try and secure Europe for the following season! That means, if we lose Kane now we need a player who can have at least a small amount of pre season rather than coming in late and being totally off the pace.

We've got Brazil's number 9.

Personally he wouldn't be my choice as Kane's replacement. I've never been a big fan and that's nothing to do with his gambling addiction, that's a personal problem that I hope and I'm sure he will with help get sorted. I know he scores a few goals for Brentford but in the big games he's always seemed wanting and when he played for England I thought he looked out of his comfort zone. Vlahovic or Dybala would be much better options in my opinion.

I do like Toney but I agree that I don't think he'd be suited to the style of play we are looking to progress towards. He seems to be very good in quick transition and when the ball is launched into the box but if you have a team that is expecting to control possession you need a forward who can take the ball with his back to goal and turn his defender one way or the other (with a pass or with the turn). He's more of a target striker than the forward we'd need

Yeah Richarlison looks a bad buy to me right now.

Not good enough out wide or up front to displace the ones we have.

If we could cash in...
Yeah sadly he’s pretty average and always has been. We way overpaid because he’s Brazilian and was talismanic for a very poor Everton side. He’s obviously doing the worst he ever has due to no run in the team/injury and Kane is a harsh level to live up to but I don’t see him coming good at all. There’s no evidence in his history that he suddenly becomes clinical, he’s always been wild, wayward and a bit of a comedy figure. Fun character? Sure. A £60m striker? I don’t see it at all

At least we’ll save money not having to provide him with shin pads !

Brentford have put an £80m price tag on England striker Ivan Toney, 27, with Arsenal and Tottenham interested in signing the player in January once he has served his eight-month ban for breaching gambling rules. (Times - subscription required)

Can't wait for the January transfer pantomime season, seems it's already started.

Just like Raya, he will then go to somewhere else probably for 50+ million only.

Fuck Brentford.
