When we have Onamah and Winks as our younger options, i just dont think spending money on Grealish is wise. He is not going to be a first teamer so just dont see the point.

Villa are fucked financially and have big gaps to fill in their squad. I'd imagine a decent offer of cash (20m say) and some loans, I think they'd bite our hand off
if Bruce is still there next season I don't know if I'd want to send any youngsters his way.

While I agree with this we are not going to be able to improve the first XI in every position. We are not going to be able to upgrade on Eriksen but we need someone else that can play that role if he's out. That I guess is what we would be looking at from Grealish.
Also going to allow Eriksen to play deeper which he can do equally effectively.

I wonder how many posters have seen him play this season? Very few I expect.

I think that is true of many of our targets. As fans our opinions often come from piecing together info from the media, views from the players fans, stats and few times we have seen the player.

It is very rare we have seen an extremely high amount of a player from an opposing team.

The only team I watch a lot is Spurs.

Not proven.

Not sure why people keep thinking this an answer.

People want to move Eriksen deeper so they can justify getting in another shiny attacking midfielder or changing to the fabled 4-3-3 that seems to be the answer to all our problems.

Yeah it just feels like fantasy football to me.

Yes Eriksen can influence from deep, but he often does so by dropping back from his offensive role further up the pitch as has freedom to do so.

If we then just restrict him to a deeper role it may just blunt him a bit.

We need someone in engine room (be it Winks, Onomah or a new signing) that can provide good passing and control from deep, not pigeon holing Eriksen into the role.

He MAY work in the position but wouldn't want to go into the season with it as a main option, too risky.

And Grealish doesn't appeal to me at all.

We have Winks and Onomah so would prefer we take chances on our own unless what we are bringing in is truly a level up.

He really needs to stay at Villa for at least another year or two. He has improved a lot for sure, but the last thing he should be doing is sitting on a premier league team's bench.

NEver been impressed by him tbh. Also isn’t it well documented that he is a massive end of a bell?

Imo Grelish would be a smart move. He clearly has abilities people turning their noses up (because he wears his socks down) while on there high horses should take the time to look at what Grelish can do and bring to Spurs also the potential he has under the management of Pochettinho and professionalism of players like Kane.

He could play anywhere across the 3 supporting the main striker.

Don't really understand all the hatred for him tbh.

Aside from being a bit of a knobhead after he just made it in to the first team, I'm not sure he's really put a foot wrong since.

Quick and skillful, he's not Dele Alli calibre but he's a decent footballer who would probably do very well under the guidance of Poch and our players who are frankly a class above Villa's in every way (some of the twats in that dressing room... John Terry, Alan Hutton, Gabby Agbonlahor, Mark Bunn... ouch)

If Poch sees something there then that's good enough for me.

Or it could be that we likely won't be able to find someone that can do that better than him. I mean I don't think we'll be able to.

Rather than picking up the quality backups I would prefer us to go after the gaps in starting xi players.
£40m for Grealish or double up to get that star player and spend £80m on a Savic type CM.
Maybe he’s out of our league but £80m on someone like him would give way more than x2 the value of a £40m Grealish who could come good but is a sub realistically starting next season.
Would Savic want to come here though, you've got to be realistic.

As I say, I suspect he’s out of our league.

Likely to Star at the world cup

One of the genuine top prospects in world football.

But my point remains get top starting 11 players where possible rather than two squad players for the same price.
