If we ended giving them 60m + Winks for Maddison i would still find it a superb deal
Is that because we get rid of Winks? I think Maddison for £60m alone is too much!

I always said I wanted SMS as an attacking midfielder option but he’s soo expensive!

it’s gonna be interesting who we end up with as they’re all great options!

That makes you effectively value the deal at £75m-£80m which is hard to define as a ‘superb deal’.

It’s similar with Gil who cost €25m + Lamela which effectively is around €40m. The latter fee seems quite high given that he is yet to start a PL game for us.

Couldn’t care less whether the fee is £50 / £60 / £70. Especially when Maguire was £80. Grealish £100.

He / SMS instantly strengthens us.

Not that I rely on Transfermarkt stats but Winks (26) is only one year older than Maddison (25) but has ten English caps compared to Maddison's one. Winks at one point in time was valued £35m in 19-20 season but has dropped to £13.5m while Maddison is valued at £45m currently. I bet we could get Maddison for around £50m and somewhere between £15-20m for Winks. If there were interested in a swap it might get done for about £35m plus adds? Winks would probably be on a much lower wage packet thus helping Leicester's current cash crisis. Keep in mind that Leicester paid £22.50m for Maddison so doubling their money on him and getting four good years out of him was a pretty good purchase.

Maybe offer Tielemans a new contract with a release fee for next summer
I think if Maddison really wants to leave they will not want to step in his way as long as they get a fair fee

Just had a look at Leicester contract situation....

Leicester have 10 first team players out of contract by 2023 and another 7 by 2024. Thats 17 of their 25 in precarious situation. They have so many avergae players on huge wages -so it isnt easy to shift.
At the moment, there is no interest apart of Tielemens - even him, top clubs isnt rushing to get him. If De Jong joins United, Leicester can forget a auction for Tielemens

Soon, they have to make a call. More days go by without selling or buying anyone, more pressure it adds on them..

I have no sympathy for those fans & club - let them rot and I hope we can snatch JM from them by this summer window.

Apparently Tielemans has been in contract negotiations with Leicester for 18 months already. Highly doubt he suddenly decides to sign - I think he's made his mind up and is looking for a way out ASAP.

I won't cry too many tears if the Leicester bandwagon comes crashing to a halt...

Wow that's pretty bad.

Just had a look and they've tied down enough decent players to longer contracts to keep them going (Justin, Daka, Fofana, Dewsbury-Hall, Pereira, Barnes, Castange) but unless the owners are going to pump in money to sign players they definitely need to cash in on some of their assets sooner or later.

Up until now their general model has been to sell one big player and invest the money in the squad: 1 out, 3-4 in.

20/21 - Chilwell
19/20 - Maguire
18/19 - Mahrez
17/18 - Drinkwater

Thing is last summer they spent 60m and didn't sell anyone and now they don't have any European football whatsoever.

I'm far from an expert in Leicester's finances but with Rogers saying 'we need to sell to buy' and them having so many players soon to be out of contract, it looks like they really could do with cashing in on a player or two this summer.
