Well maybe but they've told us that is how it is. That they wont let both go in one Summer and they want to offload YT, he was openly offered to us but we didn't want him.

YT had a bit of a poor season and with 1 year left can’t imagine his fee would be very high, if they want to raise a lot of cash Maddison is the obvious and perhaps only option.

Well thats bad news as it will almost surely be YT that goes. But if Bissouma was 25M then I can't see LCFC getting more than 15-20M. Not exactly enough to get many meaningful transfers in.

Thing is after we signed Bissouma for up to 30m there's no way Tielemans is worth as much so they will struggle to get as much or more than Brighton got. It feels like a Tielemans sale alone isn't going to be enough to start signing players.
Is Bissouma now the imaginary pointless benchmark, that means nothing to anyone other than Spurs and Brighton and only for that deal?

Tiellemans seems like he's not going to get them much money. If a team really wanted him they could have him for 30m, seems like the clubs who are interested aren't interested for that amount and are just running the window down so Leicester have to accept a low offer.

I'd guess he'd go for 20m and the question is whether that's enough income for them

YT could be holding out for his final year then going somewhere and getting a large signing on fee. WC year as well so he might be happy to stay at Leicester where he is first choice?

But I can still see Arsenal picking him up if they can sell a few on.

Maddison is a weird one, I don't really want him but wouldn't be against it if we got him. His injury record is a bit of a worry. Several hip and knee injuries in the past couple seasons.

Please let this happen..

A: I think he's quite a good player

B: Because I live in Leicester, and get bantered on an almost daily basis by Baby Squad dickheads.

I would luv it, because I know for a fact that it would Royally fuck them off if we snatched Maddison.

And I could then get Maddison written on the back of our new home shirt, and ride around town on my mobility scooter cocking a snook..

That is all. Thanks

As a fellow Spurs supporter in Leicester, I couldn't agree more.

Signing their best player with how much they hate us would be delightful.

What Bissouma was sold for doesn't set the maximum price for Tielemans. That's not how it works.

I think this is very unlikely, and can see Tielemans signing for any number of teams, especially if he's not gone before deadline day.

That said, it'd be great to go into a new season having signed 3 Premier League teams' best players in Bissouma, Richarlison and Maddison.

If this is our new MO, I look forward to the signings of Zaha, Coutinho, Guimaraes, Ward Prowse and Neves, as we also buy everyone else's best player.

How long do we give Leicester/Maddison before we turn our attention to another attacking midfielder? I thought Conte wanted players in before the Southampton game?

I don’t get why Leicester have to sell to buy though?

Surely in worse case scenario they’d just be better off not signing anyone and keeping a proven class player like Maddison?

I thought Rodgers was supposed to be a decent tactician and he’s been able to buy plenty of players since he’s been there that he should be moulding into a decent team?

I think ITKs stated he wanted a good number of signings in for pre-season but I don't think he was expecting us to complete ALL of our business before a certain date.

There are bound to be opportunities late in the window that won't be possible pre-Saints (like Maddison potentially) and I'm sure Conte accepts that given we've already made 6 signings for him.

No but I think it's fair to look at another premier league player in a similar position with 1 year on their contract when determing their value

Based on the alternatives out in the open I'm not sure any are better than Maddison.

Paqueta I'd be happy with for sure. Zaniolo or Calhanoglu are lesser players for me and I don't think they would excite most. SMS sounds like a load of wishful thinking more than anything concrete.

De Ketelaere maybe? Must be a reason his move to Milan is dragging.

I'd love to know what the true AM shortlist is.

A couple of things are pretty well certain, neither Tielemans nor Maddison will be at Leicester after summer 24 so Leicester need to manage that reality.
It seems Tielemans won't bring in the fee they want nor happen as soon as they need so at some point they may have to decide whether they'd be better off retaining his services for this season and raising the money on another player and that obviously could be Maddison who they'll want to sell next summer anyway.
The outcome of that is that they'll have the services of Tielemans for one more season instead of Maddison.

As before, they'd much rather sell YT, have had plenty of interest in him, and don't want to let both go. Leicester have made this abundantly clear from the off.
Not surprising really, makes sense from their perspective. And with Herc’s last update from a few days ago that we are after another attacker who’s in demand, it seems we aren’t waiting. Probably the wise move, we are already playing the waiting and hoping game with Bastoni, we could well end up with neither.

I'd imagine Tielemans this season, Maddison next season.

Maddison next season may only be a 30m player when they could possibly sell for 60-70m this summer. If they need a decent amount of money this summer to buy then Maddison is the only obvious option unless they sell a bundle of players along with YT.
