It might, but in Dalmat's case we're looking at a 12-13 year career in which he's failed to cut the mustard (or make the most of his potential), and barely a year of that at Spurs. It's not our fault that this is so. I'm pretty sure that he, like Taarabt, was hailed as the 'new Zidane' early on in his career.

Great flair player, little selfish and never helped out defensively if i remember correctly.

I agree with A&C, this discussion should be in another thread somewhere (if there is a more suitable one out there) - so perhaps we should not deviate here.

But just as a final note, Harry has always insisted on being closely involved in any negotiations about players, and especially with Storrie there, he would have known exactly how much they were going to offer a player to get him to sign for Pompey.
As for Grant's short stint as a DoF there, Harry never wanted to work in that system and it was one of the reasons Grant had to leave.

So your final note is to provide no proof, just further speculation. Thanks.

Perhaps you could post your proof in General Football?

No, I reckon it's right Jon. It's not like Portsmouth, as a business, have masses of internal and external advisers who have expertise in that area and have responsibilities towards the company. Their financial mess is obviously completely down to Redknapp, who must have wa(i)ved a dismissive hand at all that financial process "malarkey", and instead plucked numbers out of thick air.

Yes. Most definitely that way round. :shifty:

O'Hara has been involved in training ground 'incidences' before.

Had the spat with Dalmat(?) or spat at. Not sure what caused it.

BelgiumBrownie (?) on COYS (Who knows HH) said he had a set two with Bent and didn't come out as well as he did against Brown. King gave Bent an aplouse for what he did as well.

A what?

I remember that incident, apparently he gave Ohara a slap.

The treatment of Dalmat was fucking ridiculous. He was exactly the type of player we were desperate for. I remember one game (Birmingham I think) when Kanoute scored a hatrick and Dalmat still got the man of the match with an unbelievable display.

I was gutted he was sent packing.

Dalmat was so talented. There was one dribble off the right wing where he got out of an impossible situation, Brum or Leicester, can't remember which. It was the single most skillful thing I've ever seen at Spurs.

Unfortunately, we were being run by Pleat and Carr at the time.

Did Stevie Carr have a lot of influence back then?

I was following them more closely than I probably am now, but you get far more of the nitty gritty gossip coming on here!

Dalmat was unbelievable during his short spell in the team, him Kanoute and Keano in tandem was beautiful to watch.

Like many Spurs Teams in recent years, just was a shame we were so lacking in defensive areas and had no central midfield that season... :-(

Maybe his attitude was poor, but for the pure talent he produced on the pitch I'd have had to have put my arm round him and encouraged him.

After all, Drogba and the like are complete ****'s too but Chelsea still benefit from his talent.

Carr was club captain at the time I believe, and for some reason we were quite desperate to get him on a new deal (which never happened thankfully, so we shipped him to Newcastle in the summer). He was the longest serving member of the squad and the senior player at the club. The little shit always used to mouth off to the media about his ambition as well, he made Pav seem like a silent angel.

We had fantastic midfield that consisted of Brown, Redknapp,Anderton and Poyet. This was full of pace, power and grit!!!

spurs_viola, do you also believe the moon landings were faked and Mossad staged 9/11? Stupid foil hat brigade.

Back on track... I abhor violence, but who hasn't lashed out in an overheated moment? A one-off incident and really quite understandable. Poor Pompey.

Thing is boris, O'Hara is making a habit of it. Dalmat, Bent, Brown, and a questionable involvement in the incident which led to his missus being pushed through a glass table and nearly losing her leg in a night club. He does seem like a bit of a yorkshire terrier type, i.e. a little shit who gets into trouble.

Ok, he's not Joey Barton, Marlon King or Craig Bellamy, but he needs to calm it in my opinion.

OK, let's not have him back then. Wilson's an on-pitch terrier who doesn't get into punch-ups so it's clearly not a necessary evil.

O'Hara out! Oh wait...

I love OHara.. We need a bit of aggression in our squad. Better than having pansies like Jenas and Crouch..

As long as he cultures that aggression into productivity and dominance in the middle of the park (which I think given games he will) I'm all for his aggressive nature. Like many have said, Brown's a twat anyway...

....

Yeah, absolutely, you totally got me there....

WTF have moon landings and Mossad got to do with the Portsmouth FC crisis? You really should go easy on those mushrooms, buddy - they are not really magic, ya know?

*sigh* ... It's about people thinking they know something but with zero evidence to support their assertions. Not hard to make the connection really.
