I was there. Obviously I'm Welsh, so wasn't exactly thrilled to see it hit the back of the net. But secretly I was thinking "FUCKING HELL! Let's have a bit of that for Spurs!!!! Great strike"

Stunner.. Umm is it just me or would he look comfy in the midfield, in front of the back 4?

BAE seems to have improved his free kicks. His practising is certainly paying off.

I think as with Dempsey we have bought versatility, he will be able to play in that midfield holding role as well as in defence. Seems very composed on the ball and happy to play his way out of defence rather than hit and hope. He could prove to be one of the best signings we made in that window

That will be great for away games but with Lennon instead of Dempsey.

Still yet to be totally convinced by Jan. He is still a little soft currently to be a central defender in the premier league. Looks very versatile, good on the ball, looks good when attacking.

but his primary job is where I think there room for big improvement. Remmber the mighty Kaboul in the early days?
Its early day for Jan.

PS Time to let Caulker have some games - in Europy league most probably.

Pretty sure I saw stats the other day saying that Vertonghen is yet to lose an aerial duel, and has a ridiculously high ground duels percentage too. He doesn't look shaky. Nothing like Kaboul's first stint.
