You may well have a point - I'm thoroughly fed up with Balegate and having no centre backs and Jan to Barca has done for me.

I'll go and watch the news.......

I'm sick of it too. Losing Vertonghen for me, personally, would be more upsetting than losing Bale. Probably because I'm not British I guess.

Yeah, it's actually kind of scary.

Certainly is.

If they ended up going as high as 35 million euros, I'm not sure Levy can turn that down - well he can given our current predicament I guess but that's a hell of a lot of money for Vertonghen. I really like Jan but he isn't worth 30 million plus, not a chance - even in today's climate. He might be worth a big fee to Barca though, given the way they play.

I don't think he's top draw defensively if I'm being wholly objective, but it was only his first season - and he may look even better with Kaboul beside him. He is however fantastic with the ball at his feet and we definitely want to keep our better players that's for sure.

Hopefully its a load of tripe though, so it doesn't tempt Levy.

Perfect defender for Barca really. Not the greatest at defending set pieces, but superb bringing the ball out of defence.

Thats what they are scouting for....look who they have been linked with Luiz, Agger and Verts. None of them particularly great old school defenders, but excellent bringing the ball out of defence

What it really means is we cannot keep our players no matter what we do. Because, and you cant blame them, they ALL want ot play for the mega clubs.

I'm British and the whole mess that is Bale/Modric/Jan just does my head in. So frustrating.

Hang on a minute, why are we taking this seriously? He's been here for one season. Relax people.

I'd rather clubs want our players, at least it shows we are moving in the right direction. Do you remember the mid to late 90s, we couldn't give some of our players away, and I was pretty embarrassed that some of them played for the club

Two things...It's a fansite and SB Nation one at that and If Chavs, Dippers and PSG can tell Barça to fuck off then so can we (and I say this despite being a voting soci of Barcelona).

Interestingly though most of the culés would be willing to pay over €40 million

Thats one way of looking at it ;).

I'm worrying what the effect of all the Bale toing and froing is having on the squad and coaching team.

I have no reason to doubt you - but I want players to be totally committed, not ticking off the games till their off
I doubt Jan is at that stage just yet. Maybe another season or 2 of treading water and he'll start seeing eyeing new pastures.

Jan's not like that, good loyal pro.
He showed and got a lot of respect with the Ajax support.

We need to get use to this, its a compliment that we are purchasing and developing well.

If no one looks at your lady , she's ugly :p
