a CB & DM are must buys even ahead of a striker but if we could get all 3 then we would have a very strong squad and if we stayed in europe and bought well in the window...... ah look at the optimism returning:)

2 strikers (Defoe & Ashton) send FC back to Man Yoo
2 DM (Parker & Diarra) ship out Zokopops
1 LW (Capel/Arshavin)
1 CB (depending on King's fitness - no idea who)

yeh lets get parker and ashton so we can have two more players eternally on the injury list

If we are going to Sunderland for a striker surely it should be Jones?

Cisse is on loan with an option to buy so perhaps we could jump in there with a sneeky bid and steal him!
Nothing against the lad but Jones would cost us an awful lot of dough.

Belhadj is also on loan at Portsmouth and again we might be able to steal him.

If Gomes gets replaced in January you can all suck my dick for being right about him.

Did you know we could have had Nigel De Jong on a free. Jol wanted to get him from Ajax. The reason we didn't was that we wouldn't pay him £40K a week...Typical Daniel Levy!!

That's made me dislike the Levy regime a little more

djibril cisse is shite and certainly no improvement on what we've got already

Yes the Cisse that played for Liverpool was indeed shite but you obviously haven't seen the new version of him playing for Sunderland!
Completely different player and on some of his latest performances as good as Drogba!

Redknapp at spurs really worries me, especially in the transfer window.

This is redknapps first job at a relatively "big" club, no disrespect to pompey, southampton or west ham, but he wont have that much of a restricted budget here, and levy will most likely give him the backing to go and splash 10-20 million on one sole player if it will help improve the team.

Now upon arriving, in his second day at work redknapp has already stated on an interview on the BBC website, that we (spurs) just like other clubs will have to go out and look for a bargain in terms of signing players - which worries me.

Ok, this might not be as bad as it sounds - given it less risky if the player fails, we could turn out to have saved millions by finding a gem & ofcourse if the player is any good and quite cheap...levy's going to make a fortune when sold on in the future ;-)

My main problem is, we are spurs, we should be an attraction for some of the top names in world football, and at the end of the day, spurs and levy's long term aims remain the same - break into the premiership Monolopy.

The top players and most attractive signings dont cost pennies, they cost millions, and I fear we are going to see less of the 10-20 million Modric's and Bentley's, more 3-8 million unheard of players who Redknapp will feel can turn into better players over time or 'do a job for us'.

I dont know where you others stand on this, but id still like to see us making moves for the likes of the Arshavins of this world. Redknapps pulling power for these players worries me however, regardless of Ramos' poor start to the league, at least the man could attract some top draw players - what international starlet is going to want to take instructions from harry redknapp?

I feel his time at spurs will be over soon after relegation is avoided and we finish somewhere in the mid-table. We have not even heard anything on the length of his spurs contract.....maybe levy bought him in to stop the unthinkable from happening, but then again, redknapp also wishes to retire soon, I dont think one last season at a big club is the way he would want to do it.

Muntari, Krankjar, and Diarra are 3 players who Redknapp brought in at around that price bracket and all 3 are excellent players. Muntari and Diarra especially so. Redknapp managed to put that whole Portsmouth team together on a rather limited transfer budget (I understand that he paid high wages) and his only real draw at Portsmouth was the presence of Premier League football. I'm not too worried about him being unable to attract players. Sure we might no be able to get Arshavin now, but I'd rather have 2 Muntari/Diarra types with maybe the occasional David Nugent thrown in than 1 superstar signing anyway.

I do hope that our scouting department isn't neglected though, with the absense of Commoli it is going to be a lot harded to bring in quality youngsters. Poaching the top youth players from around the world is probably the most cost efficent way to add talent these days and that is one area where I'm more than a little uneasy regarding Redknapp.

Where did you hear this? There was a Hamburg itk who posted on GG a whlie back and he said the same thing. He said Jol had moves blocked for Mathijsen and Castelan aswell and this is why HSV were able to sign them. Also he said KPB wouldn't leave because German clubs wouldn't pay what Levy wanted and Levy wouldn't agree to a loan with a clause to buy at the end of it. This seems to be proven true.
This was the in the January transfer window in the we nearly pipped arse for CL spot. We would have got him in that transfer window for about £500k or he could have signed a pre-contract and joined us that summer....instead we paid £8.5m for Zokora.....I fuckin hate that spunkstain Comilli!!

In January I hope we can do some great piece of business:

Taiwo as the left back - Cheikh Gueye of Metz as the right back.

Then we have good backup at both places.

Serge Gakpe (AS Monaco) on the right, and Carlos Alberto (Sao Paulo) on the left.

Lassana Diarra in central midfield.

Wagner Love as the new striker upfront, and exciting talent Frederic Nimani of AS Monaco.

What a team that would be!!!
