Kameni is too young to start IMO. i'd much prefer Amelia than Kameni. Amelia is the older player, with loads more experience. its really not good to have an inexperienced keeper.

Amelia's only about 18 months older, and whilst he's had more league appearances (for a crap side), Kameni has far more international experience. I haven't seen Amelia at all—has anyone on SC seen enough of him to make any kind of judgement?

ITK Archibald, as Spursodyssey, claims Spurs have basically wrapped up a deal with Amelia...so this could simply be a smoke-screen ;- ))
Archibald also claimed that is was just an injury that prevented Jarque from joining Spurs last January.
I think the interview has been "twisted" a bit. Gus would know not to expose targets with 4 months yet to go before the next window is opening up.

Archibald also claimed that Jarque's injury wasn't real at all and then changed his tune when it became apparent that it was. He was also adamant that Barnes and Reo-Coker were effectively done deals last year. I wouldn't bet the farm on anything he says coming true.

The usual advice with ITK: have a tub of Saxa ready to hand.

I find it amusing that many are comparing Kemeni with David James as it's not often we see black goal keepers. Getting past that stereo-type thought Kemeni is IMO a vast improvement on Paul Robinson.

but both Cerny and Robbo are likely to be off in the summer, so it may be that Kameni is more of a replacement for Cerny than for Robbo......with Amelia or whoever else coming in too

'Vast improvement on Paul Robinson'

Not sure about that.

I reckon Robbo is a better keeper than Kemeni

What is uncanny is that I was about to make a comparison between Kameni and James. I think they are very similar. They will both make mistakes from being overly positive and both are tall, athletic and good/sometimes great shot stoppers. I used to mock James but a combination of him maturing and me realising that that combination is prefferable to the timid, tubby, unathletic Robinson and the decidedly average Cerny has changed my mind.

Its taken David James till amost the end of his career to become a half decent keeper, still rather have Robbo.

He wasn't nick named "Calamity" for nothing.
