Don't shoot the messenger, just letting you boys know. I've never even heard of the guy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just what I was thinking.

I know we have a seriously good first XI but when our rivals are picking up £50-90million stars and our transfer rumours headlines needs a decent amount of googling/youtubing to catch up its a tad underwhelming.

Here's to Juan, Jean etc becoming the £70million players of tomorrow, well 2020!

I think the worst thing is they're paying 50-90 mil on players that aren't stars.

I've never heard of most of our "transfer targets" yet people are getting in a huff that we aren't throwing around almost record breaking fees for us. That's not to say these players aren't any good, it's just it seems that some people want us to spend big just because other clubs are

Most people would be elated if we just fucking spent something next week is the end of July and still no one in, even allowing for our usual dragging of the heels this is really taking the piss this time.

So don't bring anyone in because they are not household names (which we can't afford)?

What we are saying is if the likes of Seri, Barkley, Suso, etc... have been scouted heavily and targeted, so stump up the cash and get them in for preseason. These players will have been chosen because they are talented but get-able in our wage structure. Seeing footage of most of these it's clear why the club thinks they can add to us.

£30m is the new £15m. Selling clubs are wising up. The sooner Levy realises this the sooner we may actually get some players in! We have recouped £80m already, will have the income from Sissoko to add too hopefully, we should have enough there to buy the 2-3 players we need without even making a net spend like 90% of the league.

I want the squad to be improved, all the other teams' activity does is make that more necessary.

Chill out, I'd bet money on us being stronger at the close of the window than we were before and also that we will have spent a big chunk of that £80m if not all on good players.

I hope you are right, I just value getting players in preseason rather than in the last 2 weeks of July. I'd rather not wait 12 months for the players we sign to 'be better next year once they get a full preseason', like Son in the season before last.

There's also the issue with us being light in attack at the start of the season with Son and Lamela out.

We'll probably make the signings by the end of August, but right now things aren't going well...

I totally agree on getting players in early enough to gel in preseason. Just have to accept the reality is people don't want to sell their best players and when they do it's generally only for crazy fee's.

Hopefully the scouting team come through with some gems.

In the case of the player in this thread, Seri, he's one of their key players. In this scenario I'd imagine they won't budge on price, but I guess Levy likes a challenge.

Even if we sign a new player or two they probably won't start at the outset, pre- season or no pre - season, the Poch takes his time.

JJ Rubbished the link any way. I think Barkley is our number 1 for this position and I imagine we will get him. Seri was either back up or never really on our target list. Interested to see what the Italian stuff from JJ turns into!

Swansea have had a second bid rejected of around 17m. We are probably keeping an eye on this, will be interesting if they agree a fee.

Not completely cup-tied yet. I'm pretty sure teams are allowed to register one player who's played in the qualifiers
