I love watching the defending in Dutch league compilation videos. Absolutely laughable 90% of the time.

spot on. I just had exactly the same thought watching that video. The defenders sit back and give some much space. Its impossible to tell if the kid is any good.

As we have Chadli on the left we don't really have great cover for him so maybe this boy would be worth a shot. I have seen us linked with Konoplynka to so I assume it would be one of the other?

Only thing is how would they take to initially being Chadli's understudy? And how much would this boy cost? We could already have a more than ample deputy in Alex Pritchard who is out on loan. I would rather us give him a shot or at least have a look at him first. If he don't look like he's good enough then sign someone. But when I saw Pritchard for the U21 and in the next gen a couple of times, he was easily our stand out player at that level.

I never ever watch these You Tube type of highlight reels. Up till now. He really does look special. Might have to break my habit of a lifetime and watch a bit of Dutch football.

get him in NOW

sheffield's game showed we have no backup if chadli can't play.

I agree. I mentioned our desperate need for Wing Forwards on another thread. Lamela may end up as a number 10 as well, which means the only actual wing forward we'd have is Chadli. Townsend is not in my opinion ever going to become a WF. Left wing to get the ball in last part of a game, sure, but wing forward, no.

This kid actually runs like Townsend, but doesn't have to stop to change direction, has brilliant awareness and a good, accurate shot. He looks really decent. Hope we get him or Kono for the left and another wing forward for the right... the question is, who would be a decent RWF? Miralles? Not sure about him really and he's right footed. Kono is apparently able to play on the right, but his usual position is on the left.

I don't get this Chadli understudy talk. Chadli is quite simply not all that good. Absolute terrible first touch. Terrible!! A squad player fair enough but we should be looking at improving our 1st team. Bettering Chadli.......shouldn't be hard : )

Not heard of this kid but sounds exciting by the reports. I'd be all over it just as i would for Kono if they could potentially be a better option than Chadli. I think Kono is already.

that youtube video makes him look like the budget version of depay

lifetime contract please

I thought that video makes him look like the deluxe version of Depay.

Remember checking out Memphis' videos last summer and being thoroughly underwhelmed.

This kid looks shit-hot.

I'm not dismissing the lad (I know absolutely nothing about him) but I am urging caution. After-all, look at this attacking, goal-scoring powerhouse

I don't quite agree with your rating of Chadli, but I do agree that he's a bit overrated on here because he's popped up with a few goals. What they're entirely neglecting is that he's entirely ineffective when teams stack the box against us, and plays like this guy and Kono are the kind to at least attack them to pull defenders out of position, while Chadli never does.

So regardless of whether we need to "improve" upon Chadli or not, we do desperately need another option to open things up for us when Chadli cannot.
