So even Andre Vilas Boas, with his famous commitments to athletic, pressing football, prefers Hudd to Jenas. Interesting.

It allows him to get to full fitness as well as go home, then it should be easier to sell him come january

Not a big fan of Jenas, but the comments above are just unkind. He is our player that has done well for us in past and not his fault that better players have joined the ranks. Undeserved I say. I am glad that he is gone on loan for the main reason that he gets to play first team football that can only benefit him and us, just in case the need arises.

Good for him if it means he actually gets to play a little football. If he does well and enjoys it there he may go in January.

Good luck Jenas, hope you enjoy playing in front of home fans who don't boo the team off at half-time ;)

I don't think he can ever play for us again. He looked like he was sh*tting himself when he made a sub appearance for us this season. He needs a new start.

So much so that he tried to ship Hudd off for a whole season to Stoke, which is where he'd be now if Stoke had been prepared to cover the risk of injury.

He also seems to prefer Livermore to Hudd if the start of the season is anything to go by. Hardly a ringing endorsement. Probably not the time for the Hudd fans to be sucking themselves off just yet eh ?

Good for him. I hope he gets back to fitness and regular football. I think he's a decent player but we've moved on and he desperately needs a change. Perhaps help them to promotion and then a permanent transfer.

Edit: I've just read on the BBC site that the loan is off.

The evidence - Hudds abortive loan - which suggests that Jenas was prefered earlier, doesn't actually directly contradict what's happening now though, does it, because this is in the light of further examination of both players ? Both fit, both off the back of an injury destroyed season, Jenas got the minutes/bench time and Hudd the loan initially, now AvB's seen more and he's reversed his preference and reversed the situation. That fits the facts most closely. If we assume that AVB's preference is expressed in all this, that is, which make more sense that assuming it's not.

Given what little we know, the latter preference carries somewhat more weight, from our perspective as outsiders, because it's obviously based on more evidence.

You say it's not a ringing endorsement, and I agree, but your phrasing suggests you suspect the whole sequence of events might amount to some kind of, less than ringing, endorsement, of Hudd over Jenas?

And I don't see and Thudd fans sucking themselves off. I'm not one and I'm home alone.

Really hate it when our fans rubbish a player who has put in some good performances for us along with some poor ones. He was first choice in CM under Jol after Carrick left and before Modric arrived, and at that time preferred to Hudd, who also mixed good performances with a lot of poor ones. I for one hope it goes well for Jenas and perhaps it is the team for him to play for permanently.

I think we shud be wishing him well and hope he does well and gets game time if he returns then he has had games but i think he is so far down the list we shud be trying to get him off the wage bill. with ref to Hudd - i tink he has good ability and maybe now he can play a prominent role as we seem to have adopted the 4-2-3-1/ 4-3-3 formation.
i think there is nothing wrong in the manager changing his mindo n players as form and fitness changes.
gud luck JJ did well tho not to the heights we hoped when signed from the magpies!

I thought that was because it was felt Thudd is still recovering from long-term injury in terms of getting match fit?
