Was wondering about this. No mention about him being injured, then suddenly he was not even in the sub's list. To add insult to this, he was dropped by Capello.

What happened to him? Anything we dont know, or was it just his poor form of late that prompted this?

It kind of comes as a mild shock, considering he has never missed any match if he was not injured, and has always been a definite first teamer.

In an interview I read this morning, Ramos stated he was fit, but wanted to try other options.

Ramos Axed Sulking Jenas
Spurs coach Juande Ramos left Jermaine Jenas out of the weekend win against Portsmouth as punishment for his poor performance and sulky strop against Chelsea last Wednesday.

The midfielder didn't make the squad of 16 against Pompey at White Hart Lane on Saturday - and then found out he'd been axed by Fabio Capello for England as well.

In yet another move designed to hammer home that he won't suffer egos or ill-discipline, Ramos decided to leave Jenas out on Saturday because of the way he reacted to being subbed at half time during the Chelsea game.

The midfielder had been having a poor game but reportedly acted in a less than professional manner when informed by Ramos that he wouldn't be going back out for the second half.

'Not Injured'

And though the Spurs boss has rejected suggestions that he was involved in a bust-up with the former Newcastle United player, he did confirm that his decision to give preference to Tom Huddlestone on Saturday had nothing to with injuries. "No, he's fine," commented the Spaniard of Jenas. "There were other players in better condition."

Long overdue I think, there were times in the past he should have be dropped but was not. Hopefully Ramos will get a couple more midfielders in the summer. JJ needs competition for his place.

Well that explains it then. Cheers mate.

Although its good for the gaffer to stamp his authority, it does seem worrying when this kind of thing happens. I just hope Ramos is a strong enough character to ensure the players do not try to create unrest, similar to other clubs where the manager is not in total control.

- Insult? Are you serious?

- What happened was that he's finally getting found out as not beeing a very good CM.

- Couldn't come as a shock....could it?

Personally i'm just so happy & satiesfied that we finally have a manager that demands something on the pitch to let the players start the games.

I thought he was injured or recovering from that ankle knock and therefore was being rested. It would also explain his withdrawal from the England squad.

Jenas, after being in very good form for most of the year, has shown signs in a couple of games before the 4-4 draw with Chelsea that he was not really effective.

Ramos was right to start him against Chelsea in the hope that a major game like that might give him that spark, rather than to risk another MF combination. But when it became apparent that he hadn't found his form, took him out at half-time; and continue with experimenting in the Pompey game when the opponents were that that formidable.

so he is saying, jenas needs to improve his reading (of the game), an improve his mental strength on and off the pitch? that probably applies to half the team! bit harsh on jenas i think. ramos' prob had enough of the recent insubordinate incidents involving high profile 1st teamers and was making an example.

+he doesnt rate him ehehe
