I see it that Jenas hurt his ankle vs PSV at WHL, and was rushed back not 100% fit. Jenas may have played poorly against Chelsea, but he wasn't the worst performer in 1st half of the match. That accolade went to Robbie Keane, who gave the ball away 6 times oppose to Jenas' 4, was booked and never set up a goal like Jenas did.

But selective memories and all that...

seems to me JJ has been a bit injured/tired of late - but I still say he's our best mid player -

...and that he doesn't produce much when playing.<br />

Ramos just get's better and better. Respect!

I wish you'd leave some of this shit out.

Jenas has produced a hell of a lot on the pitch over the last 3 seasons. he has been a key figure in our 2 5th placed finishes, chipping in with many goals to boot.

Lest we forget that in february last season we were languishing around 9th/10th place and Jenas had been out for a considerable period, he came back and we looked a totally different team, with Jenas doing more than his fair share to link midfield with attack & we climbed the league to 5th.

People berate Jenas because they really see quality in him, but they want him to be Gerrard. I'm afraid it's just unrealistic. He is an excellent player and although Capello left him out this time, he chose him over Carrick and Hargreaves last time out.

He has put in some top performances when it's mattered this season.

Didn't he drop Ledley too?And before anyone says anything Ledders was fit enough to play and if the game had been important enough he would have played. That being the case you could argue that Ramos doesn't rate Ledley but we all accept that more likely he didn't see the point playing a man to no purpose, I suspect the same is behind JJ's rest.We have the opportunity to try different options and rest people and if he feels JJ needs to be rested after his injury or because he isn't on top form that doesn't mean he is crap or that Ramos doesn't rate him. I can't help but think that certain people don't rate him and have jumped on this opportunity make their case; what will they say when he's back in the team?

Was one of the best players for Capello's first game in charge and i'd be surprised if he left him out, if not because if injury.

I agree wholeheartedly.

What will they say? nothing, they will neglect to comment untill they have a reason to stick the boot in, like Michey never ever fails to do.

also what is the point of names a 30 man squd then dropping 7 of them before even watching them train ??

I understand that a few may end up injuried but surely 7 is a bit over the top

its true, personally i would just name a 23 and anyone who pulls out gets replaced, rather than all the 'who ha' about people like wheater, agbonlahor and young being called up only to be dropped

Tired??

The guy has almost slept the whole time since joining us from Newcastle.

Hi Michey - you sure don't like JJ do you :)

As ever, it's all about opinions, i think JJ is a good/very good prem player, our best mid player, worth more than what we paid for him, so I'm happy with the lad - what JR's opinion is we'll know come the summer time - my betting is if he's fit he'll be in our top 16 come next season, and probably our starting XI for most big games

Nah, i don't care too much about him. I think he hasn't made any developments during his time here. My view is that Ramos will work on Huddlestones speed during the summer and he'll be our man.....if someones isn't brought in of course. :)

But i guess...this is what makes the forum an interesting place.....different views.
