he invariably plays short passes out of defence though, often to any one of the 4 centre mids they have playing at any one time.

If you are comparing pass rates among peers. Jenas' will probably be better than, say, Carrick, as he tried less ambitious stuff, but Carrick is the better passer, realistically.

Ergo, that particular stat can take is shitty fat fucking face for a meaty shit.

Exactly, it's a fairly pointless stat. The only times it is useful is if it reveals somehting shocking, like Joey Barton having a % of around 65%. I don't care if he's trying the most ambitious passes in the world, if his success rate is below 70%, he just accept he is quite Glenn Hoddle and try a few shorter one's.

We aint going to be selling Jenas, Jol loves him!!, I belives we havent seen the best of jenas yet even then look how many goals he scored last season, even with the time off with injuries, I beleive there is more to come from JJ and hopefully if the prince arrives from what i have read is a creative midfielder then that will give JJ a bit more competition.

jenas wont go, would have to be a crazy offer for us to sell, in todays market his value is probably 10 million as an england international, to make these players available you would have to at least double that, same with downing and others like them, unless jj asks for a move he will be staying where he is.

Its a funny old game but i dont see Chelsea being intertested in JJ. City i can see for 10 million but only because Sven is shopping like he does with Nancy!!!

I would take 10 for JJ. He has done well for us but a Van der Vaart or a Mikkel Arteta would be a better player for us.

So why has he been unsuccesful in CM in a 442 at evey other club he's been at? He only emerged as a decent player for Everton when he was moved to the right of a 5 man midfield. Arteta is a wonderfully gifted technical footballer, but I don't think he's a replacement for JJ in our CM, based on a good season playing RM. I know he's very popular at the moment and rightly so, but his popularity has come mainly through media reports, rather than people actually watching him play. It's amazing the amount of times people post about him being a good option for our CM, but I just can't see what they are basing this opinion on. Before playing on the right at Everton he had failed to really make a name for himself as a CM for Barca, PSG, Rangers and Sociedad. I'd be pleased if we signed him, but I certainly wouldn't play him in the middle, unless perhaps we changed to a 451/433.
