If we had Moutinho in our side since Sept 1st we would be comfortably 3rd, if not better right now, maybe even top (given the 80 minute plus stats) simply because an intelligent midfielder who can retain possession as well as he can would prevent a lot of the silly late goals. Would also have meant we wouldnt have felt the loss of Dembele quite as much,.

I want him in a Spurs shirt now..........NOW* DANIEL DO YOU HEAR ME

*Will accept January 1st

Why?

They are a selling club and they already have a replacement for him?

I think it might be a very tough one to do, but if it's true that he has a release clause that we can trigger then they may have little option if that's met.

Really?! Who?

What's Llorente's current value anyway? If we signed two players of that calibre we'd be nailed on for CL. We'd be the finished article wouldn't we potenially? The only position that could concern me might be RB if walker doesn't get his act together.

Wishful thinking I know.

Sounds promising!
I wouldn't be surprised, but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't happen!
Come on, not knocking the itk, ever, but it's not a statement of intent beyond we're probably still trying. Which is if course a good thing, just not going to get my knickers in a twist just yet.

Oh most definitely it would put us over the top. I'd imagine that would represent the switch to the 4-3-3. The next question becomes who plays as the RF. I'm guessing Defoe with his pace, scoring ability, and when he actually decides to cross (albeit very rare) it's usually pretty decent. That in mind:

------------------- Lloris ---------------------
Walker---Kaboul------Vertonghen---BAE
Dembele -------Sandro----------Moutinho
Defoe-----------Llorente------------Bale

Ah, it's nice to dream.

Top 4 nailed on, imo. Very good chance of 3rd.

We won't sign 2 players of that calibre though. Just my pessimistic opinion.

My heart can't take another Moutinho merry go round :(. Can't JJ just tell us we're going to sign Steve Sidwell?

I still vividly remember waking up and seeing we had signed him only to find out throughout the day that it was never completed. : (

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that.

I remember seeing Sky stating that it was a done deal, he was on his way to London, etc.

Oh man, that really opened up an old wound. That was gut-wrenching. And then later on it looked like it could happen, only for us to find out it was scuppered by the most annoying of reasons.

I love that team but I'd have Adebayor at RF. Pace, ability to drag defenders about and link up play at the same time, creating openings for two other high quality players in Bale and Llorente, combined height presence with Llorente ( Adebayor has that blessed and rare combination of height and pace ), and a good finisher when he is actually presented with clear cut chances.

Adebayor loves to drift too so would be more suited to that role. Would certainly have a few options either way.

And then there was that extended deadline we all thought was for Moutinho but was actually to let Norwich have Kane.
