AVB's preferred midfield three would be

1 Defensive Mid - Sandro/Parker
1 Box-to-box Mid - Dembele
1 Creative mid - Moutinho

Those who are claiming we don't need Moutinho as we have Dembele are very far off the mark. Dembele for all his ability has a very limited passing range. He prefers to take the ball past the opposition midfield before passing simply.

Moutinho is different as in he see's passing opportunities early and has the ability to pick out the opponent with accurate balls to feet. He is similar to Xavi or Scholes in this respect but obviously less talented.

And he has a football brain, something we seem to be lacking at the moment.

I don't really understand all the negativity about Lennon. He's been one of our best players this season. Sure, he could use some more end product, but he is a very good player. Upgrading him will cost us a shit load of money.

Our player of the season so far IMO

Skybet odds slashed from 3-1 earlier today to 2-1 from Moutinho to join Spurs before 1st February.

they could be slashing (33% lower) the price to provoke some interest - Victor's offering 8-1, and I know they've taken some bets at that price. :sneaky: but I can't talk betting because people will get annoyed at me. (y)

Maybe in the first couple of games. Personally I think he has been anonymous more often than not recently.

i have to agree. Lennon is on the pitch to go at players and create chances. I've side a lot of "going sideways". His tracking back is a plus we must not overlook. But he's not been performing his primary task to great effect of late.

Agree, but its also about adding some more options.
So many games to be played, potential injuries, tired legs or loss of form etch we really need another potent winger.

But i agree Lennon is a good and stable player.

Go Misfit, it's your burfday!

But yeah, some poor Spurs fans lumping some money on, and therefore throwing it away, is all that is I think.

No chance, Sandro for sure, Dembele a very close second with Jan an even closer 3rd. Lennon probably 5th behind Bale and just edging Caulker and Lloris IMO.

You'd put Defoe as our ninth best player of the year? With the form he's been in?
