Wish West Ham would buy him (along with Savage) it helps to have all my hate figures at one club.

Strange thing is that when I've heard him on the radio he's spoken quite intelligently. Guess he just flicks the total nutjob switch when he's not speaking to the media.

Barton's rap sheet so far:

- December 2007: Assault & affray charge in Liverpool (remanded in custody until Jan 3rd).
- May 2007: Assault charge on Man City team mate Dabo (goes to trial Summer 2008).
- March 2007: Assault & affray charge on taxi driver in Liverpool.
- July 2005: Sent home in disgrace from Man City's pre-season tour of Asia and fined two weeks wages after attacking a 15 year old Everton fan in a hotel bar.
- December 2004: Fined 6 weeks wages by Man City after stubbing a cigar out in the eye of a Man City team mate

Hmmm, the word "professional" doesn't seem to apply to this guy. I've posted before how little I think of him so no need to go any further.......

"A person experiencing schizophrenia may demonstrate symptoms such as disorganised thinking, auditory hallucinations, and delusions". ahaha, i get those

posted this in spurs chat:

don't know, obv you guys are talking about this in general footy, i haven't seen..

but jailbird barton is gonna spend new year in the cells as he was refused bail for his latest assault.. for those that havent heard yet..

how funny is that? we are talking about an england international, although that is obv. papering over the cracks ,in his head.

p.s - i still remember atouba took him out with a firm elbow, back in the day
i was grinning hugely and most satisfied (wasnt really spotted) - cos barton was a little git even back then..

poor bastich, kinda feel sorry for him now - his actions are well beyond his control it would seem..

Yup. At Her Majesty's Pleasure until his hearing on the 16th. And after that, and with the D'Abo case still to come up, I'll be astounded if he gets away with less than 6 months.

I wonder what those who were saying he'd be a great signing for us think of this?

He's been given conditional bail. News just in.

No details on SKY news about those conditions though.

Unless different parts of Sky are reporting different stories, those early reports seem to be wrong. Luverly Joey is still banged up, and his assault charge was upgraded to ABH.

"During the hearing the assault charge against him was upgraded from a Section 39 common assault to a Section 47 assault occasioning actual bodily harm."

Apologies. I have the old afternoon live show in the background here and i was sure that Kay Burlery said he got bail (with conditions).

But you're right, on the web site it does say different.

The magistrates granted no bail, but the crown court has decided that he may be released.

He has to attend the magistrates on the 16th.

I wonder if the conditions are he cant play?!?

No definately granted bail, she's just confirmed it.

OK Grumpy Old Man time: "What is this country coming to? This bl**ding footballer commits ABH whilst on bail for assault and the judge lets him back on the streets."

In reality, I suppose our prisons are so full that the judge probably had little choice but to let him out...
