Well I haven't see the abuse and have no interest in reading it - but don't worry wait till he starts playing for us -

the amount of abuse some/many of our players get from so-called fans is equally sickening - and I do often have to wade through that - as it pollutes the Lane and many a forum including this one

If God loved Bostock as much as Bostock appears to love God, he would've given him the power of spelling.

There's one comment on there - i can't even tell if they're having a go or praising him. Stupidspeak, that's what it fucking is, innit.

Anyway, i agree it'd be the same with any club. Bare in mind most of the comments on there are from 4 year olds.

thats crystal palace for you. the same fans you all feel sorry for

Yes, so very different from all the 'Thanks for the great memories, Sol, wish you all the best down the road' messages that would have appeared on Bebo or Facebook had they existed in 2001.

A few nice messages of "support" from Palace fans...

Oh well, all footballers take shit - it comes with the territory.

I think most of us would move jobs for the money, although if Bostock said he'd saty at Palace, I can see why the fans would be pissed.

In some ways, I kinda respect Chimbonda more than most players; at least he'll quite openly admit to beign a complete mercenary. He certainly doesn't go in for all this badge kissing bullshit!

Nice try, but I don't think it was quite the same scenario

Not quite, but the Palace fans clearly see it as a major act of betrayal all the same. We've got a certain degree of double standards here.

blimey some very harsh abuse! Terrible for such a young lad to go through that, idiots! Hope he just never looks at Facebook+Bebo again as the comments will have to hurt his feelings. He will be a success IMO saw him once or twice looks a real talent.

Personally, I think most Spurs fans would have excepted Scumbell going on a free...it's who he went to that was the big dick up the arse!

If he went to say United, I think most fans would have shrugged their shoulders and moved on quite quickly...

I certainly wouldn't have been happy about it—if he'd gone to United for a decent fee it would have been a different matter. He screwed us totally and royally, every end up.

It's not truly comparable—after all, Palace got some money for Bostock, and he's a kid, not arguably the best CB of his generation, but there's definitely an aroma of double standards in Truespurs' comment.

Hmm let's see now. We have a player nutured by his club, expected to play a big part in the first team that runs down his contract and signs with another club leaving his first club with a fraction of his value as compensation.

I can't imagine any of OUR fans reacting badly to a situation like that.

LOL at comparng this situaton to the S*l scenario.

I like the fact that he actually let all those nasty comments stay up for everyone to read rather than delete them all.

Everyone knows that Spurs fans would behave in much the same way if our best young player ended up moving to another London club against the wishes of the board. The idea that all Spurs fans are saints is laughable.

Although I would like to think that the abuse would contain better spelling.

I'm really angry that people think that a child is fair game for abuse.
Shows what our society is really like why don't they just stab him too it's ok everyones doing!
What an utter disgrace!
Sol Campbell was a man that made a desicion wrongly in our opinion but he was a man.
This is a child who isn't even old enough to sign his own contract without his parents consent.
I want to ask you all a question If you don't like your job and feel you could learn more from another one are you a traitor, a scumbag etc?
now apply that to a footballer. Same difference.
The media forget to highlight he was told by a coach he wasn't good enough for Warnocks team.
I wish also people could see how roughless clubs are when they don't want you!
No loyalty there. so why do they think players should be loyal and then say it's a business when it suits the club.
Do you know what parents and kids give up to follow their dream of being a footballer-Parents travel the length and breath of the country at their own cost to take their child to training/games etc nobody compensates them!
Fans are the only loyal ones in football not clubs ,chairmen, agents and players.
Sorry about the rant but everyone needs to open their eyes and understand.

Well I guess he's already settled down nicely at Spurs, on his Bebo page there is a link to his Myspace and our very own Andros Townsend is in his top friends.
