and once again after more denials from the club have been exposed as wrong(constant denials there was a problem between jol and comolli and clamied jol did have a say in signings) doesn't it throw up the question, who do you believe more...the club or the papers? frightening thought:shrug:

I just want Commoli out. Regardless of his relationship with Jol. His performance has been well below our standards. His buys have been shocking. If thats his job then he aint doing a good one. Get rid.

Whether Comolli is making the decisions about who to sign or not there is a bigger problem. The 'performance' the other day only furthered my belief that the guy is lacking in the personal skills to represent our organisation(some may argue that he reflects our level of organisation perfectly:wink:).

I don't doubt he has some grey matter, but all evidence so far is that he isn't the most confident creature. The question arises from MJ's comments. How wasn't there a meltdown in his relationship with Comolli sooner? My guess is that Comolli avoided MJ. Add Comolli's own words that only 40% of his work involved the present (Is he a clairvoyant?).

Taking another angle, 'if' Comolli is conflict avoidant, averse to personalities which are so inclined. Where does that leave him in regard to negotiating contracts with 'that hardman' we as a team have been crying out for? Or does he avoid him altogether? (Kaboul? French, fashion, articulate, and half a brain) Rather than looking at the 'style' of the player he is alleged to have signed I'm worried he might have 'personality blinkers' affixed. No doubt he has the Spurs p/r blurb downpat, but once forced from his comfort zone....Oooh, runaway...

As i misguidedly attempted yesterday, my suspicion is that Levy has more in common with Comolli than any other member of the Spurs community, age and culture being key. Doesn't require too much of a stretch to think that when these two converse, football isn't the priority. So? Sacking a DOF is one thing, your 'friend' is another.

Having convinced myself of much of this I can see us on a cycle....'rinse and repeat'. Solution? Hope someone stumps up an offer Levy can't refuse....soon.

elano and petrov would have been quality and would have made a huge difference to the team. Everyone goes on about 40m but 10m was spent on boateng and taarabt who are not ready for the premiership

A midfiled of petrov kaboul elano lennon would have been great

Excellent post, I used to praise Levy very highly until this current fiasco, I think something major happened over the summer and have no idea what it is, but speculating, I think ENIC want out and I think we'll have a regime change within 24 months.

jol is looking in my eyes a very sorry figure...move on with a bit of dignity....i suppose it was dc fault when we lost in last years cups and other games when winnning....throwing games away in the last minute..not being able to keep clean sheets and not improving one of many talented young players we have..he obviously wasnt up to the job..mj is a very likeable character but should not be mouthing off in the press........

I agree, he can fuck off now. I feel like they probably didn't trust his judgment. lets not forget that we went for Petrov and he chose to go elsewhere.

I think they will listen to Ramos more than they did Jol as they respect him more.

To have got Petrov we would have to have matched the package he got from Man City, if we had and he had come I have got absoltely not doubt whatsoever that we would have post after post saying somehing like £70k a week for that useless git, it's all Comolli's fault.

Quite honestly I think we got the buy of the summer two years on the trot with Bebatov and bale, so I'm satisfied.

Why can't Martin just let it lie and move on.

If Jol wasn't a tactically inept coach he might still be in a job. If his record wasn't 1 win in 10 he might still be in a job.

I really am beginning to dislike Jol, and truly think he is a very average coach with great PR skills.

If he had any class he would have walked away in the summer, if like he said, he was being undermined in the transfer market.

To stay and then speak out is classless. Go to PSV, fuck them up, get fired and blame someone else, but shut your mouth about Spurs

Finally a statement from Robbo.

“We have been working defensively, shoring up at the back.
But the work is far from done.”

This statement tells me alot about Jol. If Jol had done this in his three years he might still be in a job.

Excellent post.

Jol's cheque's obviously cleared. It's embarrassing really, a lot of fans who looked fondly upon him are now starting to turn on him because of his classless behaviour since he got the push.

why can't he speak his mind?

Clearly he wasn't able to when he was still the manager, now he's not he can speak freely.

He can, but it's classless. If he left of his own volition, then I'd have no problem with him speaking his mind, and telling us about all his perceived injustices.

But to get fired, rape our club of 4 mil, and then speak your mind. That sounds the classless ramblings of a bitter man.

I've only seen the one interview with him where he actually details his grief with the clubs board members specifically

Besides, now he's out of the club, if a journo asks him a few questions and the answers are honest, as long as he doesn't continually harp on about it for weeks on end then i've got no beef with him speaking his mind.

I'm getting pissed off at this trashing of what Jol achieved for the club. Where did we finish before he arrived? 14th in 2003/04, that's where. Do you really think Ramos would have left a Champions League side to join a mid-table team that hadn't qualified for Europe via the league for 20 years?

Two 5th-place finishes plus last season's cup runs put over £30m in Levy's pocket. We went from mid-table mediocrity (10/9/12/10/11 in preceding seasons) to fifth and ludicrous top four expectations in two seasons. That's where Martin Jol took us. I don't recall anyone in the Hoddle era saying "Oh yeah we should be top four".

And as far as the signings go, BMJ left little doubt of the players he wanted. He mentioned Robben (unrealistic, he knew), Pedersen, Downing and Petrov for the left side. And three months before he leaves he gets a teenage left back to push forward.

The fact that he said he had final veto on signings may mask another truth. That he could only veto what he was offered and took the best of a bad bunch, positionally. And also that unlike the board did not want to go around undermining people by leaking stories behind their backs.

it's not raping the club for 4mil - he was given a contract and a "five year plan". The club started touting his job about and if he'd walked he'd have had no job and no payout, all because the club were going over his head. Why should he walk away with nothing?

£4mil payoff isn't all that bad considering how much they wanted him out.

He didn't rape anyone. The club wanted to fire him, that means that the club have to pay of the remainder of the contract. It's classless to suggest Jol tried to get fired to claim the £4million compensation and then suggest it's like rape
