the "I was at Spurs for three-and-a-half years, so that was probably a record." part could be interpreted as sarcastic though.

Dunno...he could mean it was a record for him as a manager to stay at a club for 3 1/2 years:shrug:

I always loved Martin Jol, and assumed that Martin Jol loved me. But when I bumped into him in Lidl and threw my arms around him, he claimed to not even know who I was...

I am looking forward to the inevitable 'Martin, give us a wave' chants when we play them next season.

When he and Robbo were here it was a nice, happy period. We'd been so rubbish for so long it was just nice to have a team of good players and to be suddenly doing so well. Everyone loved everyone. Keane and Berba were brilliant, Lennon had burst on to the scene, Dawson had made the step up, Ledley was still playing regularly, Carrick and Davids were running the midfield... Good times.

Then Carrick fucked off and like a house of cards everything became bitter and angry.

Oh and we got in the Champion's League. Not all bad.

I know one thing for certain. He's going to get one hell of a positive reception from the WHL faithful when he brings the Cottagers to N.17. I can't think of a manager in recent memory who has inspired so much love from the supporters.
 can't wait.

NickH, My admiration of him has no bounds I am sorry but if he went back to Spurs tomorrow you would here a big Yipppeee from me!
Back when he was sacked and under such appalling conditions if Kelmsley and Levy were stuck in an elevator with me only one of us would come out alive and it would have been me. I was FURIOUS at the time. So it will be lovely but difficult when he comes back to the lane and its a game I want to be at!

Lets face it he had to deal with Garderner, Rocha and young Dawson at the back for most of a season. The guy was a fucking hero!

You can say that again. 

I think your memory of our 'happy period' is playing tricks on you, Carrick left before Berbatov even arrived!

"I won't lie - I didn't feel great at that moment," Jol recalled.
"But later on, you go to another club. I was in Germany and Hamburg had 55,000 season ticket holders, not 30,000, so that was a big club.
"After a few weeks you go on and you play in the semi-finals in Europe, and I played in the quarter-final with Spurs so it was even better (than that). There was no looking back, or hard feelings."

that's proved you didn't use your interview with Newcastle to get better terms as you stated before, to protect yourself from 'disloyality' , yes you like us, you might hate Arsenal, but looking that much at HSV or Newcastle meaning that you aren't loyal enough, if a true big club came for you i would excuse you, but not HSV or Newcastle.

still love you btw.

Jol has to be nice about Levy as he probably wants to take Keano, Jenas and maybe some others off of us!

Even if Levy found Jol raping his wife, he would still sell those two players too him afterwards.

Jol served us well and was terrific at the time. He has us playing some wonderful football, none more so that Keane and Berbatov. Now that was a strike partnership to drool over.
I was and remain a massive fan of the big man, but I have to admit I felt his time was up and it was the right time for him to go. He had lost the belief of alot of fans and players. The method of which he has sacked was absurd and the big stain on Levys Tottenham career, but it was the right decision for him to go. Short term, it won us a League Cup. Long-term, it got rid of that ***** Comolli.
Time is a great healer, and we are all remembering Jol (and some comolli) in a better light now than 3 years back. Comolli was a disaster - dont forget it. He gets credit for signign MOdric, eben though Luka himself at the time said it was Ramos who phoned him and convinced him to come to Tottenham. Credit Comolli with Boateng, Bentley and Bent. Ramos with Modric.

So you forget that Levy gave him a Porsche as a reward for his loyalty and then MJ still had an interview with Newcastle....We all love MJ but dont think that only Levy was the devil....

Ryan did you not say that Harry was in talks with Chelsea, so whats different

No difference whatsoever. Just think people should take it on board when they critisise the board for sacking jol the way they did.
When Harry is sacked I just wonder whether people will be as forgetful about it as thy have been about jols whoring

I seem the only one who is a little worried of BMJ turning up on the last day of the season which a handful of players we all thought werent good enough for us to get 3 points for Fulham which we may need to finish 4th??

Undoubtedly Fulham will beat us at some point in his tenure, that is the funny thing about football, it seems to have a sense of humour sometimes...

I love the English people. I always loved it here, and not only in London. I was even in Walsall and loved it, and that is maybe not the best of places."

 Now, that's something I've missed. You'd not hear that from Alan Curbishley. Awesome.

BMJ said:
"I said to Daniel when I came to England: 'If you leave me alone, if you let me work for you, they will push you around the streets of London like a king.' And they never did."

On the other hand this is drivel.

When he came to England it was as an assistant coach. Either he should have been working for Jacques Santini or he means when he was made Manager, which was months later and so he is re-painting history. Not that he shouldn't be allowed a little editorialising but let's call it what it is. And it shows a character not unprone to making himself look better and more charismatic/able than he is. Rather like Harry some might say.
