Ryan did you not say that Harry was in talks with Chelsea, so whats different
Jol wanted a pay rise.

the "I was at Spurs for three-and-a-half years, so that was probably a record." part could be interpreted as sarcastic though.
can't wait.I know one thing for certain. He's going to get one hell of a positive reception from the WHL faithful when he brings the Cottagers to N.17. I can't think of a manager in recent memory who has inspired so much love from the supporters.
NickH, My admiration of him has no bounds I am sorry but if he went back to Spurs tomorrow you would here a big Yipppeee from me!
Back when he was sacked and under such appalling conditions if Kelmsley and Levy were stuck in an elevator with me only one of us would come out alive and it would have been me. I was FURIOUS at the time. So it will be lovely but difficult when he comes back to the lane and its a game I want to be at!
Lets face it he had to deal with Garderner, Rocha and young Dawson at the back for most of a season. The guy was a fucking hero!
I am looking forward to the inevitable 'Martin, give us a wave' chants when we play them next season.
When he and Robbo were here it was a nice, happy period. We'd been so rubbish for so long it was just nice to have a team of good players and to be suddenly doing so well. Everyone loved everyone. Keane and Berba were brilliant, Lennon had burst on to the scene, Dawson had made the step up, Ledley was still playing regularly, Carrick and Davids were running the midfield... Good times.
Then Carrick fucked off and like a house of cards everything became bitter and angry.
Oh and we got in the Champion's League. Not all bad.
I think your memory of our 'happy period' is playing tricks on you, Carrick left before Berbatov even arrived!
"I won't lie - I didn't feel great at that moment," Jol recalled.
"But later on, you go to another club. I was in Germany and Hamburg had 55,000 season ticket holders, not 30,000, so that was a big club.
"After a few weeks you go on and you play in the semi-finals in Europe, and I played in the quarter-final with Spurs so it was even better (than that). There was no looking back, or hard feelings."
Jol has to be nice about Levy as he probably wants to take Keano, Jenas and maybe some others off of us!

I seem the only one who is a little worried of BMJ turning up on the last day of the season which a handful of players we all thought werent good enough for us to get 3 points for Fulham which we may need to finish 4th??
I love the English people. I always loved it here, and not only in London. I was even in Walsall and loved it, and that is maybe not the best of places."
BMJ said:"I said to Daniel when I came to England: 'If you leave me alone, if you let me work for you, they will push you around the streets of London like a king.' And they never did."
