He's everything Dawson isn't.

Assured, classy, good on the ball, good reader of a game, positionally aware. And for that reason I'll be investing.

But I want 40% of him for £2 million.

If they stay fit then King and Woodgate would be one of the best defensive pairings in the Premiership. Let's just hope they give him a very thorough medical if he decides to come.

It would be the best defensive partnership in the world.

So in theory, we could have the (2nd) best defensive partnership in the premier league, with Ledders & Woodgate, PLUS
we already have the best attacking partnership in the premier league, with Berbs and Keano.
So, what about the middle of the park?

Ferdinand and Vidic could only be considered "better" because of the team around them. If Man United had Ledley and Woodgate as well, those two would easily play instead.

It looks as thought we are all in agreement that Woodgate, when fit, is top notch. I would love to see him sign for us as I think not only would him and King make a world class partnership, but he would also add a bit more experience and like its been pointed out, fill in for Ledley when he is injured and ensure Kaboul and Dawson don't have to play together.

Would be a great signing, just hope its not the only one, if....I'll say that again.....IF it happens at all.

Stunned to see these reports. Just hope he has a very thorough medical and that fees and salary are related to appearance. Just seems a lot of money for one of the most injury prone players in history.

Standard Spurs fan question: can he use his left foot?

Avid Boro fan here at work is distraught at the news. Apparently Woodgate has been absolutely outstanding for them whenever he has seen him play. He would rather we signed Downing if we were to poach a player off them.......

Brings up a couple of questions not mentioned yet

If eligible would it be right to oust Dwason for the CC final in favour of woodgate?

does this mean the Salary cap has been broken. I know he took a pay cut to sign for boro but it's not unrealsitic to still recon it was over our 40k pw cap?

both have impact on the rest of the squad in more ways that simply getting a good player in.
