To be fair Aurier is the first choice, and Doherty had been improving of late.

Fair enough on Aurier, but should we be stunting his development so that Doherty gets a fair chance? He has been improving as of late, but other players have been exiled for less.

Shifting Moura right would have been the right move. But then Son got injured and maybe that changed whatever plans were being made? Either way it was a disaster, I was listening to the first half on the radio and could hear how much Doc was getting roasted.
Exactly, even if we had switched to a 442 with Bale going on top after Son’s injury probably would have solve the problem on the right, Doherty isn’t a good defender and to leave him being exposed the way we did, it’s both a surprise that we only conceded one goal in the first half and also shows Arsenal just isn’t very good. Which is all the more frustrating as this confirms Arsenal was there for the taking and we fucked it up.

Who has been exiled for less?

Hands up who knew Doc was gonna get roasted as soon as they saw he was playing?
Ok so we all knew this. How come 'the special one' didnt?

Not sure what game you’re watching. Before the arsenal game we was playing some lovely attacking football the last 5 games. Hence why we scored so many goals. One game we take our foot off the pedal and the pitchforks come out again. This really needs to stop!
We played lovely football against the weaker teams in the league but when we play anyone half decent we lose that is what needs to stop.

I'm wondering what circumstances Jose would need to suceed at Spurs.

If he wants to play defensive football against the 'bigger' teams, does he need 2 rock-solid CBs?

And if so, if he had the two best CBs in the world at his disposal, would he win the league (or at least be up there)?

I'm just trying to get my head around what his long-term strategy is and if he's here next season, what he's going to do.

A manager can only work with the players he has to pick from. Sure, he can make a few signings in the summer, but it's unlikely that we're going to sign the very best defensive players, or even find up and coming defensive 'gems' so to speak.

Which leaves us with a manager who has had a season testing a plan/strategy that has clearly failed for a number of reasons. What's his plan B for next season? It would be madness to do the same thing in 21/22.

Not sure where to put this but a snippet from Dragon1 on COYS; no real surprise: 'see Aly gold post it but can confirm I've been told the same that there is no money for players we have to sell to buy'

thats not as bad news as one might think. If it forces Levy to accept less than top deals for the likes of Winks, Sissoko, Dele, Sanchez, Davies and Doherty then i still think we’d be in a better position with one or two wise buys.

This is one thing that has been pissing me off since he returned from Injury. Why is Jose refusing to let Japhet play? He had so many games last season, I don't understand why he isn't being played more this season.

Could say the same about Rodon. I thought he did pretty well when he got his chance but made one mistake and hasn't been seen since (much the same as Foyth who got shipped out). Rodon can't even rack up minutes in the Europa League but I think we'll have problems throwing anyone in at the deep end if Toby picks up a knock.

Lol so being left out of the starting XI for a few weeks equals exiled? I think you may need to look up what it means.

The only two on that list I'd concede is Dele and NDombele, and I'd say both of those were for attitude and lack of work rate. NDombele even admits he wasn't working hard enough ffs. Funny how since they were both brought back into the fold both those attributes I mention have increased dramatically. The others have all been used or made the bench throughout from what I remember. Just because you think they should start, and Jose doesn't pick them does not mean they've been exiled. Them not being selected could be due to a huge number of reasons from personal issues, to below par fitness levels(from the medical team).

I don't think Dele or Bergwijn have performed as bad as Doherty is what I was alluding too. Exiled might be a bit of a strong word though. I just wanted to sound cool. (n)
Dele was wandering round putting in zero effort. Bergwijn as I've stated above could be for a number of reasons other than form. You don't know why so automatically it must be Jose is mad at him. Lol

It's funny because Jose has mentioned him in every press conference since he's been left out and not once negatively.

You're going off subject a bit and putting words into my mouth here.

Let's put it another way, Tanganga has barely put a foot wrong, so why does Doherty get the nod ahead of him?

Do you think it's likely that Jose trust's experience over youth so that is why the game time is reduced.

None of us really know the reason some players are left out whilst others are played more than we would like. Presumably Mourinho has what he would consider good reasons for doing so.

Again it raises questions though of whether he is getting the best out of this group.

Surprisingly base on the last game, Kane is one of the culprit, he’s one of the players showing no desire and no fight not until the last 10 minutes, he usually will press and close down the opposition defenders when they had the ball but there was no pressing from him in the last game, I suspect the non existent front pressing started when Kane backed off and allowed the arsenal CB to start play in front of him, not sure this was due to him being tired or he’s just isn’t 100% after the whack he took on his knee in the previous game but he’s definitely one the culprit for our diabolical performance.

I have a different opinion on why this is. I believe its because he is protecting himself and.his ankle. He doesn't close down, harass or throw himself into tackles (the shoulder barge is an example of this) for fear of doing something to his ankle.

I know first hand that you play differently after suffering serious injuries and I suspect this is part of the reason why bis game has changed for the better. He is more concerned about what he does on the ball.rather than off it and conserves himself for this.

Yep, that one mistake against liverpool and he has vanished.

No I'm not. I'm pointing out there could be numerous reasons, and you've come up with just one.

I'm actually getting a bit tired of constantly trying to point out that not everything is so black and white.

We've got a 25 man squad. We don't see them in training/have access to their medical records/know what's going on in their personal lives/ were not privy to what they or their agents are saying/know the terms of their contracts, etc etc etc. Yet they can miss a couple of matches and be sure why they've been dropped? All of a sudden we become judge jury and executioner based on zero evidence.

Last post I make like this, I literally can't be arsed anymore.

It's the news we are hearing every transfer window and the reality is quite different.
