How does this save us money?

We placed him on gardening leave until his contract was due to run out in 2 years and we were paying him a weekly salary.

By him taking a new job we don't need to pay him the remainder of his contract now.

What does this mean financially for us? Was he on gardening leave or was he paid off already?

Think his stock hasn't fallen too much because he failed at Spurs. Doesn't say much about what the football world thinks of us... Maybe...

Because we pay his monthly salary until he is employed again
I think that if Roma pay him less than we paid him then we have to make up the difference for the remainder of what was left on his contract with us. Might be wrong but even if true not so much of an expense.
As is common when a manager gets a new club he takes his previous coaching staff with him,if he does better still.
