"...is currently one of them most scouted players in European football." Not sure how they measure that....
Spurs in for Quintero
e-Spurs have learnt that Tottenham are making enquiries about young Columbian starlet Juan Quintero with a view to a summer transfer.
Juan Fernando Quintero Paniagua is a 19 year old Colombian currently plying his trade at Italian side Pescara. He was born in Medellín, Colombia, and started his playing career with the youth squad for Envigado. A 2011 transfer took him to Atlético Nacional before his next move joining Pescara in Italy. It is thought that Manchester United Manager Sir Alex Ferguson is also looking at the young star.
At just 5'7 Quintero is not a target man in the mould of a Peter Crouch, but more of a Teddy Sheringham with pace. This pace and skill have seen him passing defenders with ease in Serie A during his 14 appearances. Quintero made his debut for national team Colombia at just 19 against Cameroon and is currently one of them most scouted players in European football. While starring for Columbia in the recent South American Youth Championships Quintero was voted the MVP, leading his side to title number 3 whilst also scoring a stunning 50 yard free kick against Argentina.
Described as similar to James Rodriguez, this left footed AM/ST has scored 1 goal in 14 appearances for Pescara, although many of these have been from the bench this season.
