Seems the plan is invest this summer and sell Kane next year. If that is the case, then Kounde or another good defender is possible.

Going to need more than just Kounde and/or Skriniar. Need a good RB & perhaps a top quality RW as well unless Bergwijn develops. Do that and maybe, just maybe we could get back into top 4 while actually managing to win a trophy

Romano name dropping Kounde and Andersen.

One £50m, the other £20m.

Not rocket science which one is more likely to happen!

Hope we dont persue Anderson, good player but I have doubts if hes really the level we need.

I quite liked the look of him at times last season but I'd agree with that.

Ideally we need a real quality new CB to complement the Japanese lad and Rodon/Tanganga.

Kounde/Skriniar would tick that box.

End of the day though it always comes down to money and Andersen seems like the kind of deal Levy won't walk away from however.

Koundé is definitely talented, but is a ball-playing CB at 5'10 really what we should be going for when having in mind how we've been playing for the last couple of years? Talent aside, isn't it possibly a poor fit?

Think it's a good fit if we're going to play 3 at the back.

I didn't realise he was that short. People worry about Carter-Vickers's height, would assume the same applies here.

Depends… I think most of us are hoping we’re not going to continue playing as we have been the last couple of years ?

Think it's a good fit if we're going to play 3 at the back.

We're already struggling massively when defending set-pieces, and it's not unlikely that Ben Davies'll play in the back 3 rather as a WB. I would definitely fear us not being physical enough at the back only with BD, if we also add Koundé couldn't that potentially make it into a rather worrisome issue?

Fair enough :ROFLMAO: Our new coach is Nuno however, and he is more than happy to sit back to find the right opportunity to counter-attack. I'd definitely be worried in that case

If I remember correctly, lots said similar of Toby when we signed him based on his loan at Southampton
You could use that argument for every defender we're ever linked to.

MY opinion is that hes a decent player, but the evidence that he cant get into his Club sides team and was loaned out. Cant get in Denmarks starting 11., means hes probably not good enough.

I think judging a player by not getting into a NT first XI is flawed by default. In the Swedish NT, the coach has more or less refused to play Dejan Kulusevski and other talents like Alexander Isak for long periods of time in favor of car crashes like Marcus Berg and Sebastian Larsson as they offer "experience" and "he knows them". Sancho being completely unable to get a look in at the current Euros being another example.

NT coaches have very little time with their players and often place a very high value on more metrics than talent and ability.

That's fair but it wasn't my only point.
