Really don't want to let myself get sucked in to this again. He is literally the perfect partner for Romero, they would complement each other so well.

We're already dealing with a fair bit of player not wanting to play for the club, so it's hard to get behind this one seeing as he pretty avidly wants to go to any other bidder but us.

Yeah, but he has no affiliation with us at this moment. He’s looking out for his career, and that involves playing in The Champions League, so I can understand his reluctance. It’s on us - or specifically Fabio - to persuade him to come to us. We hold the cards in the deal with Sevilla as they want Sanchez, we’ve just got to prove to the player that we mean business.

Nothing will change unless the player changes his mind. I hope this is alluding to that. But I’d be very surprised if he’s wearing anything other than a Chelsea or Sevilla shirt next season. Next to Romero would obviously be perfect though.

Strangely not really too fussed about this guy any more to be honest. Clear he had his sights set on Madrid first and now Chelsea so quite happy for us to look elsewhere for someone who is keen to come and probably offers better value to.

Fab Romano said the player was buzzing for Chelsea 4 days ago, before that he wasn't keen on us.

Feels like a non-starter but I'd assume Rob has heard something (or is just having a laugh at our expense haha).

Just can't see this happening, not sure we'll change his mind
That seems to be the fundamental problem. In an ideal world Sevilla would prefer to do business with us. They want Sanchez, he's happy to go there, his inclusion reduces the fee they have to pass on to Bordeaux, we seem to value Sanchez realistically where Chelsea are overprinting Zouma. Everyone's a winner. Except one snag, Kounde wants CL football.

The Goat’s latest bleat is very interesting. I’m not going to think about this one until we hear new news about his thoughts of Spurs though.

I hear your point , but its not that he hates us, its just the big factor of CL Footy, if we were in the CL there wouldnt be such a resistance or hesitance

Chav fans on Twitter are saying the same we were saying about Romero. They can’t get the deal over the line

Oops.

Could get interesting if Chelsea are cooling off due to the price. Us being so keen and Sevilla wanting Sanchez might work in our favour.

Based on prior info my guess is the player plays hardball for Chelsea.

Just to add, I dont think Chelsea will hang around too long if they can't agree a deal with Sevilla. They were linked quite strongly with Lacroix in May and also Sule (year left on his contract) so wouldn't be surprised if they did switch targets if it drags on too long with Sevilla.

I imagine the fact they really want Haaland is having an effect on how much they can spend on a CB.

They obviously aren't willing to go anywhere close to Kounde's fee, hence why they tried to offer Zouma or Christensen. Fortunately for us, Sevilla really seem to want Sanchez.

Still, if Kounde has his heart set elsewhere it's going to really take something to get him to want to come here.

I saw a report from Bild not long before the Kounde news broke Sule was their top target due to contract length but then the Kounde news broke.

Also, worth remembering Fab isn’t 100% on all deals. He was adamant Reguilon was off to Utd right until the news broke we were in advanced talks for him
