I'm sure they'll just splurge on Kimpembe or something but if they can't strengthen adequately at the back then I put us ahead of them. It's very close atm.

Tuchel seems fuming though so I can see Boehly start to overpay in panic, hopefully for average players.
Assuming he'd go there. Chelsea aren't looking the most desirable option at the moment are they?

Kimpembe is a significant dropoff from Kounde. I wouldn't be worried at all if they picked up Kimpembe (or had got Ake).

I can't think of a club that's more up and down than Chelsea. Couple years ago they had Fat Frank as manager, sacked him and got Tuchel, won the CL, and now are on the downturn again after losing most of their defense and wasting 100m on Lukaku. It's so annoying because you just know this time next year they'll probably be up there again. Oh how I wish they'd been liquidated.

Looking at the Chelsea defence they've also got a depth problem as well as a quality one. They need 2 centre backs imo, one top class one. Defence is our weakest area and we need a CB ourselves but I just put ours above theirs atm.

This time maybe not. No more Sugar Roman. Star players are thinking twice to join them now. I really hope it's the downturn for them to eternal mid-table occupancy.

I got pelters in the thread last summer for saying exactly the same thing. But apparently he’s got a good jump on him was the argument.
They are chasing him 2 years straight, already having a fee agreed now, tuchel is fucking fuming as barca gazumped them, and right now they recognize he is a dwarf and they don't need him?

I have my reservations ?

I think it is hillarious to watch how their new tough guy owner gets manhandled by laporta. Welcome to "soccer", mate.

The BBC round up saying if Kounde goes to Barcelona then Chelsea will switch their attention to Pau Torres or Skrinier or Gvardiol or..... Basically uncle Tom Cobbly and all.?

I think the article was basically saying: these are CBs that are (1) rated and (2) have been linked with multiple teams....therefore, Chelsea will try

I thought it was pretty superficial

2 lcb and 1 rcb? Skriniar should be the one they go all out for, he’s clearly for sale, is a rcb and an absolute beast. Skriniar elevates their defensive way more than kounde does imo

It was but whether it meant to or not
it made the point that there's no certainty about the Chelsea window and they are pretty much reduced to schlepping round the various possibles a week and a half from the start of the season. It tickled me.

I was about to post the same. They've wanted him for two years, and now all of a sudden Tuchel isn't convinced and he's too short? WALOB. Just damage limitation.

He's totally different to Kounde. If they want someone to come out with the ball then Skriniar makes no sense. It's like us deciding between Bastoni and Bremer. I think with Koulibaly they should be looking for a ball playing type. The best ones seem to be off the menu now though. If they had Roman I'm sure they would drop big money down on Gvardiol. Not sure what they do now. I could see Torres but not sure how they would line up since Koulibaly tends to play left side.

Need to get on the phone to Sevilla and remind them that Lo Celso and Reguilon are available
