I read in the Metro this morning that we're interested in Junior Hoilett.

He would be a great addittion to the squad .

21, and he'd be cheap too. Right up our alley. I'm all for it. Him or Drenthe.

I'm somewhat underwhelmed by Hoilett.

On a free what more can you ask for; young, skillfull, bags of potential, counts as home grown player.

His only real downside that i can see is that his name rhymes with toilet. ;)

Me too, I don't really think we need a pacey winger imo, we got that in lennon and Bale(sometimes) we need a winger that can create something out of nothing and just isn't slow, i.e. his game isn't about pace but he is fast as well.

This to me sounds like Ben Arfa imo

I've always been a little underwelmed by Hoilett. His end product is a bit suspect - i.e. another with good technique and feet, but a little lacking in the intelligence dept - but having made a point of trying to watch him this year because of our interest, I wouldn't be averse, if all other plan A and B options failed, to bringing him in on a free. I don't think he'll ever be top drawer, but he's got ability, just seems to lack that little bit of brain. Like so many. I think he'd could possibly be a marginal improvement on Lennon.

Another player more suited to a 4231. Will we play it ?

Good player and a definite option.

Would like to test Fulham's resolve with a bid for Frei. Like the look of him a lot!

A player who has shone in an average side.

No one gave Pienaar a chance so I don't see what would be so different if we signed Hoilett.

Only 21, pacier and more direct and skillful (in dribbling terms not overall) than Pienaar = a better backup option for us at the moment + on a tribunal fee.. sounds so much like a Spurs signing doesn't it though?

Is he ever really going to be better than Lennon though? If we don't make Champions League then I would understand it. if we do though I expect us to sign a player who is going to serioulsy challenge Lennon for a first team spot and leave Aston Villa or Liverpool to sign Hoilett.

Indeed, under harry we always seem to pick up injuries at the end of the season due to lack of rotation imo but we got rid of all the back ups to these player in january

I would expect us to sign Remy and Hoilett if we make the CL.. Remy would be for the first team and Hoilett can cover both sides remember, which is helpful, and unlike Gio he's shown a decent amount of product and responsibility in the Prem for a crap side so I think he'd be a good signing on the cheap..

The advantages of signing him far outweigh the negatives. Due to his age and low fee, he would almost be a risk free signing. No issues regarding acclimatising to the league, can cover either flank and would fit in nicely with our style of play.

If we're playing away to Benfica away on a Wednesday night, then Hoilett would be ideal to use in the next fixture at home to Reading. It all hinges on successful rotation.
